Let’s officially introduce you to Amanda! Initially coming to us back in August 2019 both practitioner and teacher, she left us when she moved to Salt Spring Island in BC. We’re happy she’s decided to return to the prairies, bringing with her a sweetness to her classes that’s sure to connect you to your mat in a new, authentic way.
Here’s a little bit more about Amanda in her own words:
Amanda’s path has been guided by a lifelong love of movement and a steady pull toward deeper meaning. Born in Toronto, Canada, shaped by her Sudanese heritage, and influenced by time spent living, working, and studying in places like Japan and India, she brings a thoughtful and heartfelt energy to her teaching.
Amanda has a deep reverence for the body as a place of wisdom within each of us. She has always been passionate about creating meaningful spaces — in the outer world through her background in design, and within the inner landscape through movement and stillness. Drawing from her training in Exercise Science, injury prevention, somatic awareness, and traditional Eastern martial arts, Amanda’s classes are equal parts soulful and skillful. Her style blends functional movement with meditative stillness, encouraging practitioners to move gently, breathe fully, and return to themselves. Her Sudanese roots deepen her intuitive connection to ritual, rhythm, and resilience. She approaches teaching with the belief that the most honest practice is the one that helps us feel, not fix, and connects us home to ourselves.
Amanda teaches Restorative, Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin, Yoga Nidra, and meditation, with an emphasis on accessibility, curiosity, and a tender, intelligent connection with the nervous system
