📣 WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT

I did not plan for my somatic & coaching training to lead to this but l am excited to introduce the Making Vulnerability Safe workshop.

This three hour container is an intimate (five spots only!) invitation to hang out, lay back and start contemplating what it means to be truly vulnerable.

Being vulnerable can signal danger, exposure, and harm - all things to be avoided - but does nothing to signal the role of vulnerability in being seen, especially
✨ our ability to hear ourselves,
✨ understand ourselves,
✨ make sound decisions for ourselves,
✨ act within integrity
✨ explain ourselves to others
✨ hold our boundaries (especially in the face of others’ disapproval)
✨ (and so much more)

These spaces aren’t abound in culture (wanna change that with me?) because it’s not about utility or productivity or efficiency nor is it directly in service to other people. It is first and foremost self-serving (and that is a beautiful thing).

Throughout this workshop, we will be cultivating a safe space to find where vulnerability feels easy, mirroring this safety, opening our understanding, and helping our logical brain map this experience so that we can create future opportunities to step into this vulnerability IN SAFETY and see what can bloom for us 🌱 I can’t wait to hear what people do with it on the other side.

TL;DR in the same building, I just lost my parking spot :(

Yesterday was my last day being greeted by this accidental smiley face 👋 . For the last three years it has welcomed me to work.

On great sunny days,

In early mornings or late evenings when I’m the last car in the parking lot,

In the middle of winter,

And on the days where there’s a permanent furrow in my brow,

This makeshift smiling face from the exterior façade of the Paramount building has bid me good day every day (well that and the footprint on the door from someone kicking it 🤘).

I have come to expect it like swiping a time card at the start of your shift.

For the last three years, it has given me a feeling of cheekiness (and on the bad days at least a snicker).

It’s funny, what hits you.

Because there have been SO many changes to the Healing Hut in the last few years.

First, we reopened after being closed during Covid. Jaycee joined me again and Tyson came along for the ride, too.

Just over a year in, Jaycee decided she was going to go her own way.

A year and a half in, I became the sole owner again.

Two years in, Jaycee left.

2 1/2 years in, Tyson and I decided we were going to part ways.

And now? The three years is up.

Unit #130 is empty.

And it’s all been such a slow and steady transformation that not a single step of it has felt like a goodbye.

Until pulling up in the parking spot on the last day of February and starting my day with this metallic smile for the last time. Cause this time it bid me farewell 👋

I loved going on this journey with Jaycee and Tyson, and I still think so warmly and positively about what it could have been if it turned out the way that we all had hoped it would. And, like I said on my first anniversary card to them, I wouldn’t have gone on this venture with any other two people (still mean it).

I wish them the best and I hope they’re both having a bitchin time on their new adventures and I know I’ll have a bitchin time on mine ✌️just without the weird lil smiley face 😏

Guess what’s back?? And no, I don’t mean the ‘stache (it never left)! It’s November and Tyson’s raising more than just his mustache curls.

Tyson was serious last year when he said he wouldn’t shave until he raised 💰 1000 buckaroos 💰 for men’s mental health
