Brand new research involving 2946 participants, has found that up to 32% of 8-year incident dementia (dementia that appeared over an 8 year observation period) could be attributable to hearing loss.

The good news is that hearing loss is usually treatable. Make an appointment to talk to one of our Audiologists or hearing care specialists.

This cohort study calculates the fraction of a large older adult population for whom incident dementia may have been associated with hearing loss.

Choose Canadian Hearing Care at Audiology First.

Audiology First is 100% local, and 100% Canadian. None of our products or services are subject to tariffs, and there is no plan to increase prices during a time of economic uncertainty for Canadians.

We want to reassure our patients that all of our hearing aids are designed and distributed by European companies. Our biggest hearing aid provider Oticon for example is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and distributed through Oticon Canada in Toronto.

So, nothing has changed for us, and we are proud to continue to develop a strong relationship with European companies to provide the best and greatest hearing care possible.

Update on the office flood: We are now back up and running. Many thanks to Winmar Property Restoration Services, who showed up within 15 minutes of our call, and have done an incredible job.

Over the weekend, our clinic experienced a flood incident that spread across several rooms on the south side of our building.

We are currently drying those rooms, and have had to store some equipment in the hallways. As a result it is quite noisy in our waiting area and in the hallways as the drying equipment continues to run.

Because of this, we've had to reduce or change some of our appointments and want to let you know that we're still open, just with a reduced service for the rest of the week.

Appointments with Joseph Tomlinson and Shibna Kunhimon are going to proceed as planned. But for the remainder of this week, our clinic doors will remain closed until your appointment time. Please plan to wait in your vehicle until the clinician comes to get you.

We will operate on a curbside basis for those without an appointment who require hearing aid cleaning or who require supply pickup.

Our washroom is out of commission at the moment too. Please plan accordingly before starting your appointment.

Thanks for sticking with us while we get our clinic back to full operation.

Annual Clinic Vacation Approaching!

This year, as we do each year, Audiology First Closes for Christmas Holidays.

This year we will close at noon on Tuesday December 24th 2024, and will reopen at 8:30am on Thursday January 2nd 2025.

Once again, we would like to thank you all for supporting local, evidence based hearing care in Lethbridge.
