UPDATE: We've had lots of questions about other outdoor activities like basketball, skateboarding and soccer.

Activities like 1-on-1 basketball, soccer, frisbee or throwing a ball is still permitted with members of your household if you maintain proper social distancing. Skateboard parks have multiple touchpoints and are now closed.

In an effort to limit exposure and reduce the spread of COVID-19, the following parks amenities are closed until further notice:
• playground equipment
• benches
• picnic shelters
• picnic tables
• fire pits
• washrooms
• fitness equipment
• skateboard parks

Residents are encouraged to use nearby paths and greenspaces while staying at least two metres away from other parks users. If a path or greenspace is busy, please move to a different area.

In an effort to maintain the cleanliness of our community, garbage bins will remain available. We encourage the public to use proper hand hygiene when touching these surfaces.

As more and more misinformation is passed along we would like to share this to clarify some of the truths and myths regarding COVID-19 and protecting your health and safety.

There is a lot of advice floating around about what can and can't protect you from getting COVID-19. But what's true and what's not? Here are some things that experts say don't work — and some that do.

With growing global concerns around COVID-19 (Coronavirus) we wanted to provide you with an update on our response and our commitment moving forward. The health, safety and well being of our employees and customers is Critical Hazard HSE’s top priority and we are following the lead of Alberta Government and Public Health Agency recommendations.

How the virus is spread: PERSON TO PERSON

· Between people who are in close contact with one another (within around 6 feet)
· Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouth or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs

Can also be spread from surfaces: BUT NOT THOUGHT TO BE THE MAIN WAY THE VIRUS IS SPREAD

· It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own face such as their mouth or eyes

Critical Hazard HSE has already implemented additional disinfecting of high traffic areas and surfaces such as counter tops, door k***s, chairs, bathrooms, reception area, waiting room etc. To limit the transfer of germs.

Due to the way this virus is spread we have also put on hold all respiratory screening to protect the health and safety of our staff and clients who come into our clinic.

We ask any clients who have appointments to please call and cancel if you are sick, have travelled or been in contact with anyone who has travelled in the last 30 days.

We have also closed our office and are open by appointment only to limit the number of clients that are in our clinic at one time as experts are stressing the need for social distancing in order to contain the spread of the virus.

We are asking all clients who come into our clinic to do the following to protect yourself and our staff:

· Use hand sanitizer located on the wall when you come in
· Cover cough and sneezes with a tissue and throw tissue out immediately and wash hands with soap and water for 20 seconds
· Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at criticalhazardhse@gmail.com or test 403-634-6247.

Please watch to learn the facts and protect yourself and others.
