Good news in the fight against nasty ticks! And it's from us Canadians too!
"Tickery" refers to the
Canadian Tick Research and Innovation Centre (CTRIC) being established at Acadia University in Nova Scotia, Canada. Researchers there have made a recent "breakthrough" discovery of an all-natural fabric spray that repels ticks for up to a week. Repellent Spray: The recent discovery by Dr. Nicoletta Faraone and her team involves an all-natural fabric spray (likely involving lemongrass essential oil, as suggested by related research) that masks the ability of blacklegged ticks to detect a host.
Fungal Finding: Researchers also discovered a naturally occurring fungus in Nova Scotia that kills ticks, which could potentially be used for future population control, though more research is required.
