What is a Lazy Eye?
Lazy eye (amblyopia) means that one eye doesn’t develop normal vision, even though there’s no obvious problem with the eye itself.
The brain starts to favor the stronger eye, and the weaker one gets “ignored” over time.
It’s more common than you might think—affecting about 2–3% of people!
It usually develops in childhood and can be linked to things like a family history, a difference in prescription between the eyes, or an eye turn.
The tricky part? It doesn’t always show obvious symptoms—so it can go unnoticed.
Early detection makes all the difference.
The sooner it’s caught, the better the chances of improving vision.
Regular eye exams are key—especially for kids!
If something seems off, don’t wait.
