Administrative Professionals Day recognizes & celebrates the work of secretaries, administrative assistants & other office professionals for their contributions to the workplace! 🌷
They support the team by keeping things organized and efficient, and handling whatever is thrown their way with a smile on their face.
Leanne has worked in clinic administration for over 10 years in Peterborough and the Kawarthas and has been with Kawartha Lakes Physiotherapy for 4 years.

"I feel very lucky to be a part of the team of incredible providers. The clinic environment is upbeat and fun for patients and staff. "

When not at the clinic, Leanne enjoys her time at home with her husband and 3 sons and new Grandson!

What is Plantar Fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis is an injury where the tendon has repetitively ripped the lining of bone of the heel (periosteum). This ripping may cause a calcification or bone spur to develop.

What Causes Plantar Fasciitis?

When your plantar fascia is irritated or damaged it can cause plantar fasciitis including:

✅Being on your feet all day for work
✅Playing sports
✅Exercising or working on a hard surface (like a warehouse floor or sidewalk)
✅Exercising without stretching or warming up
✅Wearing shoes that don't support your feet well enough (like flip flops or flat, flexible sneakers)

What Does Plantar Fasciitis Feel Like?

Plantar fasciitis can cause an achy or sharp pain on your heel or along the bottom of your foot. The pain may change depending on what you're doing or the time of day. Some types of discomfort you may feel include:

✅Increased pain first thing in the morning when you stand up, or after a long rest
✅A dull, constant ache
✅Sharp or stabbing pain when you use your affected foot or put pressure on your heel
✅Exercising or moving might temporarily relieve your pain, but it may get worse after stopping

Shockwave therapy is a modern and highly effective non-surgical, non-invasive treatment.
Shockwave therapy uses mechanical energy in the form of pressure waves that increase local blood flow and stimulates the body’s healing process.
Treatment is targeted on the damaged tissue through a hand help applicator that breaks down scar tissue and calcifications.
