Program Spotlight #31: Adult Day Program

As part of our 40 Programs, 40 Years celebration and in honor of Adult Day Program Week during Community Support Services Month, we’re proud to highlight our Adult Day Program—a vital resource for seniors and adults with special needs in our community.

The Adult Day Program provides a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for participants, offering activities that promote socialization, physical activity, and mental stimulation. It’s a place for individuals to enjoy companionship, share experiences, and maintain their independence while giving their caregivers a much-needed break.

This Adult Day Program Week, let’s celebrate the difference these programs make in the lives of those who participate and the caregivers who rely on them for support.

When local businesses work together, our community truly thrives! 💙

Cindy, from the Foundation, stopped by Economy Wheels Nissan as they had their new sign installed by MVW Construction & Engineering Inc. Both incredible supporters of Community Care; MVW is a Care Sponsor of our upcoming event Merry Movie & Magical Moments, and Economy Wheels Nissan will be the Matching Gift Sponsor for our 2025 Direct Appeal.

The next day, Mariposa Electric Ltd was on site too - another generous local business that has sponsored and raised money for us in the past.

It's partnerships like these that make all the difference in the care we provide across the City of Kawartha Lakes. Thank you to each of these amazing local businesses for their ongoing support. 🙌

Community Care invites you to our Hospice Memorial Service on November 19, 7:00–8:00 PM at Celebrations, 35 Lindsay St. N, Lindsay.

This service is a time for reflection and remembrance, allowing us to honor and revisit memories of loved ones who have passed. All are welcome to attend.

If you would like your loved one’s name honoured during the service, please email jcraig@ccckl.ca or share their name when you arrive at the Memorial Service.

In honor of Friendly Visiting Day and Community Support Month, we’re excited to highlight our Friendly Visiting program as part of our 40 Programs, 40 Years celebration!

The Friendly Visiting program connects volunteers with seniors or individuals with special needs, providing companionship and a sense of community. Whether it’s a weekly chat, a shared activity, or simply spending time together, these visits offer valuable social interaction and emotional support for those who may feel isolated.

This Friendly Visiting Day, let’s take a moment to celebrate the power of connection and the impact that even a small visit can have on someone’s life. We’re proud to support our community in staying engaged and connected!

We're holding another Community Kitchen session this afternoon from 1:00PM – 3:00PM at our 21 Angeline St. N. location in Lindsay!

No registration is required. Feel free to drop in and help make some delicious and nutritious soup for your community!

We have added two new dates for our Community Kitchen this October! This is a chance to work on your cooking skills by making a soup recipe with fresh produce. Participants will take home some of the soup they help make and contribute to meals that will be shared with others in our community.
