Joking but definitely not joking! I’ve been see in a lot of posts in the mental health community lately about how eating sour candy is a great coping tool for panic attacks…and do you know why? Sour candy forces you to notice your sense of taste in a way you can’t ignore, and that intense noticing helps bring us into the present and out of the anxious future thinking state.

Next time you’re struggling with grounding yourself, try doing something that will give your senses a little shock- like eating sour candy, squeezing ice cubes in your hands, or taking a hot shower!

There’s a lot going on in the world right now, and honestly, it can feel pretty overwhelming when so much of it is just straight up bad. It’s easy to wonder if being kind or doing something good even makes a difference. But it does 💕

Being the good doesn’t mean pretending everything’s fine. It means choosing to show up with kindness anyway. It’s checking in on people. It’s being patient. It’s speaking up when something’s wrong. It’s small things that actually do matter.

The world might feel heavy, but that’s exactly why the good we put out there is so important. Keep being the good. We need it.
