What is BodyTalk?

BodyTalk is a holistic healthcare system that focuses on the body's energy systems and aims to restore communication between different parts of the body to support natural healing. It combines elements of Western medicine with principles from Eastern and alternative practices like Traditional Chinese Medicine, kinesiology, and consciousness-based healing.

Over the past couple of years I have found that my work has evolved and my sessions, in addition to BodyTalk, also include inner child work. This has helped my clients to establish energetic boundaries and release childhood trauma. I have decided to re-frame my work as Wellness Sessions (BodyTalk plus), to more accurately encompass the services which can occur during a session. For those of you that have had sessions with me over the last couple of years, you have likely already experienced this.

Using your body's energy to heal itself, a wellness session can improve physical function, release stored emotions and set you on the pathway to a healthier and more balance life.

In addition to BodyTalk, your session may include inner child work and boundary setting exercises and trauma release to assist you on this journey. Let's release limiting belief systems, patterns, and trauma that are creating blockages to you living your best life.

As someone who writes often, I naturally appreciate epic writing when I see it. This morning, I came across this written piece of art and it moved me deeply, so I had to share it with all of you! Not only are these words true theatre, they also act as sound advice ❤️

my brain and
heart divorced

a decade ago

over who was
to blame about
how big of a mess
I have become

eventually,
they couldn't be
in the same room
with each other

now my head and heart
share custody of me

I stay with my brain
during the week

and my heart
gets me on weekends

they never speak to one another

- instead, they give me
the same note to pass
to each other every week

and their notes they
send to one another always
says the same thing:

"This is all your fault"

on Sundays
my heart complains
about how my
head has let me down
in the past

and on Wednesday
my head lists all
of the times my
heart has screwed
things up for me
in the future

they blame each
other for the
state of my life

there's been a lot
of yelling - and crying

so,

lately, I've been
spending a lot of
time with my gut

who serves as my
unofficial therapist

most nights, I sneak out of the
window in my ribcage

and slide down my spine
and collapse on my
gut's plush leather chair
that's always open for me

~ and I just sit sit sit sit
until the sun comes up

last evening,
my gut asked me
if I was having a hard
time being caught
between my heart
and my head

I nodded

I said I didn't know
if I could live with
either of them anymore

"my heart is always sad about
something that happened yesterday
while my head is always worried
about something that may happen tomorrow,"
I lamented

my gut squeezed my hand

"I just can't live with
my mistakes of the past
or my anxiety about the future,"
I sighed

my gut smiled and said:

"in that case,
you should
go stay with your
lungs for a while,"

I was confused
- the look on my face gave it away

"if you are exhausted about
your heart's obsession with
the fixed past and your mind's focus
on the uncertain future

your lungs are the perfect place for you

there is no yesterday in your lungs
there is no tomorrow there either

there is only now
there is only inhale
there is only exhale
there is only this moment

there is only breath

and in that breath
you can rest while your
heart and head work
their relationship out."

this morning,
while my brain
was busy reading
tea leaves

and while my
heart was staring
at old photographs

I packed a little
bag and walked
to the door of
my lungs

before I could even knock
she opened the door
with a smile and as
a gust of air embraced me
she said

An inspirational message. Think I will take her advice.

The waiting is over.

I realize that I’ve been on a holding pattern lately. I’ve been waiting for:
- the pandemic to be over,
- the fires, smoke and dust here in Northern California to subside (today the smoke is so thick that it’s hard to breathe),
- the rains to come and fill our dwindling well water (our tap water is cloudy and thick with minerals),
- this extreme heat to cool (today is supposed to be 107 degrees),
- the economy to recover,
- and for the extreme political divide in our country to subside.

It has felt as if I’ve inhaled and have been waiting for months to exhale. But today the waiting is over.

I realized that by waiting for a better future, I’ve diminished the joy available right now. And there is so much JOY in this present moment. So instead of waiting for life to turn out, I’m going to start living the life I have now.

Starting today…

I’m wearing my good clothes, even if the only person who sees them is my husband.

I’m burning my beeswax candles (instead of soy candles) even if I have no visitors.

I’m going to use all my “good stuff” normally reserved for company.

I’m going to stop waiting for others to be at peace, and find more peace in my heart.

I’m going to stop waiting for forgiveness, and start forgiving more.

I’m going to stop wishing people would act differently, and accept that they are who they are ... and it’s okay.

I’m going to stop waiting until I feel that I am good enough, and know that I am good enough just as I am.

Today is a holy, remarkable day and I’m deeply and profoundly grateful to be on this cosmic journey arm-in-arm with you. You have my love and blessings for a splendid day.

p.s. This is a photo that I took before the pandemic. I was feeling an immense amount of joy on that day … I hope you can feel it!
