ASTEC SAFETY-Bonnyville Branch Operations Status Update

2025 marked 20 years that an ASTEC SAFETY-Bonnyville branch had proudly served the industrial safety training, equipment, and service needs of the Bonnyville region. For the last 10 years the branch has been an owner-operator “Licensee” arrangement, designed to encourage local owners within the communities we serve.

On December 30, 2025, ASTEC SAFETY Inc. was advised that the Licensee had decided to cease operations, at the end of their 10 year License Agreement term, effective January 14, 2026.

In the final analysis, it is not great news that the owner-operator of the ASTEC SAFETY-Bonnyville branch over the past 10 years could not establish sustainable business practices and strategies that resulted in acceptable results for themselves. We have branches, in both Lloydminster and Provost, that year-over-year make consistent positive business progress, operating in an industrial sector that many Canadian business valuators consider attractive when forecasting the next 3-5 years.

ASTEC SAFETY is committed to serving the industrial safety needs of the Bonnyville Region customers, however, with the license expiration confirmation just received on December 30th, we must take the appropriate time to initiate a process to actively re-assess all options to deliver service in the future. For now, there will not be an ASTEC SAFETY branch office located in Bonnyville.

“At least temporarily, the branch was closed on January 14th, by the current owner-operator (Licensee). ASTEC SAFETY Inc. will be reaching out to customers and community leaders to assess what level of interest exists from new potential licensee operators that would enable the resumption of service to the ASTEC SAFETY - Bonnyville territory”.

While it hasn’t been Team Jacobs week at the Grand Slam, we look forward to seeing more shots like this in Italy in February!

We sure would of liked to be running the junior clinic right now during the Astec Safety Challenge, but it just wasn't meant to be this year.

Good luck to everyone in their various competitions this week. We can't wait to cheer on Team Jacobs in February in Italy.

This team would of loved to be welcoming the teams for the Astec Safety Inc Challenge presented by Wild Rows Pump and Compression starting this week, but unfortunately with the Olympics & Grand Slam schedule it just wasn't meant to be this year.

We wish all teams good luck in their provincial playdowns and Grand Slam of Curling events this week!

We also are proud to say that our event had 5 of the 10 teams competing in Italy in February at it. We cannot wait to cheer on all the teams in February.
