We were honoured to be the spotlighted nonprofit at the recent Lerners Women’s Symposium! 🌿✨

Our talented team at the Hutton House Pottery Studio handcrafted over 150 unique planter pots, each filled with beautiful succulents and gifted to every woman attending the event which took place this spring— a small symbol of growth, resilience, and creativity. 💚🪴

A special highlight was hearing Mariam Meddaoui, one of our incredible participants, share her inspiring story and speak about the impact Hutton House programs have had on her life.

We are so proud to celebrate the achievements of women in our community — thank you to Lerners for this opportunity and for supporting inclusion and empowerment.

👋 Hands Have Power — In Art, Culture, and Community 👋

“…In art and culture, hands carry powerful symbolism. For us, they represent something essential — our community in the workplace.

It shows up in small, everyday ways — the willingness to lend a hand, pitch in, and support each other. Whether it’s covering a shift or shoveling the ramp at the main building, the answer is always: “Yep, I’ll be right there.”

But our helping hands extend beyond our coworkers — they reach our participants every single day:

🎨 In ARTworks, Fitness, or LIFEworks at the main building,
🤝 Providing hands-on care at Daybreak,
🌱 Getting our hands dirty at The Patch,
📚 Offering a helping hand through Employment & Adult Education at our new Learning Centre.

Our hands are symbols of kindness, knowledge, unique experiences, and a shared passion for community.

Thank you to all the staff who contributed to this project and stepped outside their comfort zones. We hope this installation reminds us of our strength as a community — one that stays connected, no matter our role or location.”

What a night!

Biz After 5 at the Learning Centre was a huge success — the space was packed, the energy was high, and the community came out strong!

Big thanks to the featured businesses who hosted info tables, and an extra shoutout to for setting up the bar and for an absolutely incredible spread of food.

Huge appreciation to our planning committee — Antonio, Susan, Andrew, and Jeremy — and to all the employment staff who stayed late to help make this event shine. We couldn’t have done it without you!
