Ready or not.....here we come.

We have arrived. Tomorrow is the grand opening of our new centre The Leisure Learning Lab powered by Jess Jones Recreation Therapy Inc.

It feels surreal to be here - to be opening the very first leisure education and recreation therapy centre in all of Canada. It's wild to imagine we are the first, but hey, I'll accept the challenge.

I think the other thing that feels so magical is the opening a real cafe. I say real, because it's got its own magical vibe, its own Identity. It's central to the Lab. It's the hub of our centre. And, if know me, you know how much I love coffee, food and well, cooking and hospitality in general. So now, we have a home of our own that can serve the community delicious coffee, breakfast, lunch and pastries and desserts.

And then there is the art studio in all its glory. A full-sized art studio with the potential to create without limit; textiles, woodworking, painting, pottery......

Then there is our property that includes green space and concerte to host outdoor programs like Millennial Woman's Skateboarding, pickleball, co****le, washer toss, gardening, trail walking......

The education that can take place here. The fun game nights, cards, boardgames, it's endless.

Live music. Don't get me started on the live music. We want to put The Leisure Learning Lab into the map as a premier live music venue for North London. And with the help of our musician friends and community, I know it will be possible.

We also have a Curiosity Shop; a retail space for counter culture alternative wellness and the seed for Canada's 1st Rec therapy retail space.

Oh and don't forget our counselling programs. The opportunity to support our community with mental
Health through retreats, respite, out of the box programming.

there you have it. That's just the beginning.

Oh, tomorrow is the grand opening in case I forgot to mention it. 😉

I'll include the invitation for your reference 😀😀

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow and in the near future.

I got a big portion of the mural done today. I'm super happy with it. And, in true Jess nature, I free handed the entire piece trying my best to make it feel less than perfect because it's within our imperfections that lies our beauty. This mural will attest to that while also representing leisure as the main character. 😄

Are you getting excited about our opening celebration?

❤️ Jess

We're evolving, and this change is intentional.

You might notice we're moving from maroon into citron.

Maroon had weight and depth, but over time, it began to feel heavier than the message we want to share. Our work is about leisure, lightness, and carving out space to move at your own rhythm, edgy, unique, and unburdened.

Citron reflects this shift.
Open. Grounded. Full of life.

It's a reminder that leisure doesn't have to be hurried or planned. It's about noticing what it feels like to slow down, to pause, and to make space for yourself, and how that choice ripples beyond the moment.

We're not just changing a colour.
We're inviting you to experience this transition naturally, intentionally, and with curiosity.

Explore our programs at your own pace. Because leisure was never meant to feel heavy.

What would it feel like to give yourself permission to slow down today?

Therapeutic Recreation changes lives.
But not enough people understand its impact.

February is Therapeutic Recreation Month, and this is an opportunity to make our field more visible.
This collection isn’t just for Recreation Therapists.
It’s for students, families, supporters, community partners, and anyone who believes leisure and inclusion matter.

We believe in the power of recreation to build confidence, connection, and well-being. Yet advocacy can sometimes feel abstract or hard to amplify.

That’s why we created this limited merch collection - to make advocacy simple, visible, and wearable.

When you wear it, you spark conversations.
You represent more than just the profession.
You help bring Therapeutic Recreation into everyday spaces.

Would you be ready to rep TR proudly?

Being a student means life changes quickly.

Academic demands shift. Social dynamics evolve. Energy isn’t always predictable. And committing to something long-term can feel like too much when everything else is already in motion.

But having access to a supportive space still matters.
So, students, this curated leisure pass is for you!

This option is created for ages 13–25 who need flexibility while learning what works for them. It offers entry without heavy commitment, allowing space to test, adjust, and gradually build awareness of personal needs.

Growth rarely happens in a straight line.
Sometimes the first step is simply giving yourself permission to try.

If you’re in a phase of figuring things out, this access point meets you there - without pressure, without permanence, just possibility.

Some seasons feel easier when someone is walking beside you.

Not because you can’t do it alone, but because shared structure makes showing up simpler. When two people understand the same environment, expectations, and pace, returning becomes effortless.

With Lab Partners, you and a friend, family member, or any partner can grow together with unlimited access to the full immersive experience. Extra “drop-in” sessions are also available at a curated price.

Support doesn’t always have to be solitary to be effective. If this is a season where steadiness is easier together, this pathway was designed with that in mind.

Painting by Intuition

Jessie Jones is a London Ontario based Contemporary Abstract Artist. Jessie enjoys creating thought provoking artwork that conjures self reflection and connectivity to nature.

Much of Jessie's work is inspired daily by mood, intentions, femininity and lessons being taught by the universe. Using various mediums to execute her work, Jessie loves to experiment and allow herself to enjoy the process without paying particular attention to the final product.

Jessie uses her artwork as a tool to ground herself and slow her pace down from her otherwise busy lifestyle as a full time Chef, mother of two daughters and Wife.
