09/25/2025

On August 24, 2025, our JJRT team had the honour of facilitating the Elevate Retreat in partnership with Childcan – The Childhood Cancer Research Association, Elevate 2025 at the beautiful Links of Kent Golf Club & Event Centre, Chatham.

The Elevate Retreat was a therapeutic recreation and family wellness experience designed to provide restoration, connection, and luxury leisure for families navigating childhood cancer.

✨ The day blended expressive arts, therapeutic recreation, and moments of reflection. But what made Elevate truly special was the community and care that carried through every part of the experience.

It was a day of laughter, restoration, and meaningful connection — and most importantly, a reminder that families deserve space to rest and be cared for, too.

This short documentary captures the heart of the experience — community, care, and the reminder that families deserve space to rest and be cared for, too.

A heartfelt thank you to Childcan for believing in and sharing this special day with us. This is just the beginning of something deeply meaningful.

✨ Step into the quiet ✨

Silent Studio is not about silence as absence but silence as presence. 🎨

Join us for an evening of gentle creation, where paints, pastels, and collage meet stillness. No small talk, no pressure - just you, your art, and the shared rhythm of others doing the same.

We’ll end with a little gallery walk, where we share through doodles, gestures, and notes instead of words.

✨ Date and time : Oct 4, 2025 | 7–9 PM

✨ Last week, our youth group stepped into new roles - bards, paladins, and everything in between. But what really stood out wasn’t the characters themselves; it was the confidence that grew behind them.

Through storytelling and roleplay, youth explored their strengths in ways that felt playful, creative, and surprisingly real. For some, it meant speaking up with courage. For others, it was about discovering they already had the problem-solving skills their character carried.

Epic Identities isn’t about pretending to be someone else. It’s about realizing the epic parts of yourself you might not see every day.

➔ Swipe through the few moments from our latest session.

✨ We also have Epic Identities for adults - a new batch starts October 9th!

Welcome Ana Paret & Rebellious Joy Counselling to JJRT

We are thrilled to introduce Ana Paret, B.A. (Hon.), BSW, RSW, founder of Rebellious Joy Counselling, as our newest partner at JJRT.

Ana brings curiosity, warmth, and presence into every space she enters. Through her practice, she reminds people that even in seasons of stress, grief, or transition, life can still hold joy and possibility. She weaves together narrative therapy, mindfulness, self-compassion, and creative practices like Soul Collaging to create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported.

At JJRT, Ana will be supporting our community through:

✨️Autism Connections program

✨️Counselling services

✨️Parent coaching

✨️Therapeutic life coaching for youth and adults

✨️Recreation Therapy supervision

✨️Workshops/Retreats/Classes

Beyond her professional expertise, Ana is someone who lives what she teaches. You’ll often find her hiking with her dog Leo, watching the waves at the beach, sipping coffee with a book in hand, or laughing over a game night with family and friends. That same joy, groundedness, and playfulness shape the way she works with clients and colleagues alike.

We are grateful to have Ana join us in this next chapter of building a strong, creative, and compassionate JJRT community.

Welcome, Ana. We’re so glad you’re here.

Forest Bathing & Art Journaling with Findings 🌿

Not your average workshop—this is an invitation to pause.

On October 25th from 10am–1pm, Brooke and I will take you on a forest bathing walk where we slow down, notice the small details of the season, and capture what speaks to you with Instax instant cameras (yep, we’ve got them ready for you).

Afterwards, we’ll gather at the Museum of Ontario Archaeology to turn your photos and forest treasures into a one-of-a-kind art journal page. Already a journal-keeper? Bring yours. Want to start fresh? We’ll hand you a brand-new one.

We’ll wrap the morning with a tea ceremony and oracle card reflections—just the right touch to ground what you’ve experienced and carry it inward.

You’ll head home with more than a journal page. You’ll carry a reminder of how nature, leisure, and creativity weave us back to ourselves.

Ready to join us? Click the link in our bio to register yourself and some friends 🤘🏼💪🏼

Painting by Intuition

Jessie Jones is a London Ontario based Contemporary Abstract Artist. Jessie enjoys creating thought provoking artwork that conjures self reflection and connectivity to nature.

Much of Jessie's work is inspired daily by mood, intentions, femininity and lessons being taught by the universe. Using various mediums to execute her work, Jessie loves to experiment and allow herself to enjoy the process without paying particular attention to the final product.

Jessie uses her artwork as a tool to ground herself and slow her pace down from her otherwise busy lifestyle as a full time Chef, mother of two daughters and Wife.
