Luke has had a busy and fun summer so far and this week is no different! He had his 1.5yr transplant checkup and the Drs are very happy with his progress. In January they were concerned about his growth and even talked about feeding tubes again but this month he is exactly where he’s suppose to be. Measuring in at 14.9kg and 91cm he is the friendliest bully there is! Besides having an ultrasound every 3 months to keep an eye on the narrowed artery to his liver, he has finally reached the point of yearly checkups!
Next month he will go in for another heart cath but until then we are going back to enjoying our summer with a trip to visit Nanny and Poppa!

Luke didn’t think we had enough Drs appointments this month so he threw in a trip to emerg with a weekend admission. His 24hr stomach bug turned into 3 days of low grade fever which turned into 2 days of high fevers, a wet nasty cough and him just not acting himself. Saturday morning he woke up with a high temp so we thought it was time to go get checked little did we know we’d be there for 3 days! Tests came back negative but a dose of antibiotics seemed to help get him back to his wild silly self, minus the cold!
Next morning we were off to Toronto for his Cardio followup. The right pulmonary artery is looking good but the left is still severely narrowed and will need more work, he’ll be scheduled for another balloon catheterization in the next few months. Next week we meet a respirologist to determine what this never ending cough is all about with 2 more appts left to finish off this busy month
After seeing him down for the last week it’s nice to see him running around playing!

Mommy and Luke Day
May seems to be Drs. appointment month so before we got into the crazy of it all I decided to finally take Luke to the Children’s Museum. Let’s just say that won’t be our only visit, Luke loved it! That kid never stopped and it was so fun watching him play and explore!

Round 2 Balloon Cath
Luke and I travelled back to Sick Kids for his second balloon catheterization this week. It was a quick stay but felt like a very long week of preop tests and questions.
He did amazing like always. The right pulmonary artery is doing exactly what the drs want whereas the left side is being a lot more difficult. After the last one there was zero change to the left side and they don’t think they had too much success this time either but he will have another done in 3-6mths where they will just keep plugging away at it.
It took him awhile to wake up from the anesthetic but once he did he was back to his wild little self! How do you get 2.5 little boy to be calm and chill for a few days? He hasn’t stopped running and jumping since!

1 Year Checkup
Man this year went fast but it was full of fun and not as many hospital visits/stays.
Overall the Drs are happy with his progress we just need to work on getting him to eat alittle more. Luke weighed in at 12.8kg which oddly is the same weight he was 8 months ago. He did grow in length so they aren’t too worried right now.
He is one happy, energetic little boy and that’s all that matters!

Mom and Dad are so proud of how far you have come in the last year. Nothing slows you down or gets in your way and you are definitely living your best life! Thank you to everyone that has been along for the ride!

New Year, New Memories
Christmas season is in full swing at the Williams household. It feels extra special to have the family all together for the holiday season this year.
We started the weekend off with a trip to find our tree. We didn’t go cut one down but thanks to all the snow we got we did have to dig it out. Since we had to wait for the snow to melt off the tree before we could decorate it we decided to make homemade doughnuts and build a gingerbread house. Pretty sure Luke was doing more tasting than building! Finished our weekend with decorating the house, making it feel so much more festive!
We want to wish everyone a very merry holiday season!

November 1st marked 1 year since Luke and I packed up our things and moved to Toronto SIck Kids!
I couldn’t be prouder of this little man! Keep up the good work Lukey! 🩵❤️
