Align Family Health & Fitness Our mission at Align is to help our clients decrease and prevent pain by improving their functional strength capacity in various movements.

We offer Osteopathy, Clinical Kinesiology, Clinical Pilates, Dietitian, Massage Therapy. Our therapists use a variety of assessment measures (Postural, Functional Movement, Gait Analysis, Foot/Ankle, etc) to determine if your current movements are contributing to your current health conditions. We all know how important it is to have a SPINE that is in the proper ALIGNMENT! STEP 1: FIRST we train

your POSTURAL muscles into ALIGNMENT with our corrective exercise programming. STEP 2: Then we stabilize and strengthen your POSTURAL muscles to hold this ALIGNMENT through various FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENTS! Developing young athletes is a passion of mine. Here is one test you can do with your child to check how their movements are developing or regressing (Overtraining can do more harm than good). Do they have the stability, mobility and strength to do a full body squat with arms above their head.

My son in this example is missing glute strength in his deep squat - an area we will focus on developing through play (having fun). Stay tuned with how I will try and trick my son in improving his glute strength while having fun.

Consider utilizing both osteopathic treatment and functional movement training at Align Family Health and Fitness to build a strong foundation for movement. Our osteopath provides manual therapy that maintains an athlete's mobility as they train. He treats muscle/fascial restrictions, maintains joint mobility and frees up any nerve impringements (this helps all ages and abilities for health reason as well).

TMJ Manual Osteopathy Treatment - Why is the inside of my 8 year old's mouth tight? I'm not too sure of the why. Maybe a few falls here and there since he is a very active child. Barefoot training isn't running barefoot. It is foot and ankle stabilizing exercises with sensory feedback, specific to your individual needs and goals. Shoes and orthotics artificially stabilize the feet, whereas specific barefoot exercises train the foot and brain connection for the purpose of developing foot strength and muscle memory. Don't let your foot muscles atrophy for the purpose of preventing pain and injury.. Ask us how you can get started on a custom foot exercise program.
