80 per cent of what children learn in school is acquired through what they see, but 1 in 20 preschoolers has a vision problem. Children aged 18 months to 4 years can participate in a vision screening research program for lazy eye through St. Joseph’s Health Care London’s Ivey Eye Institute - Ivey Special Eye Examination Services (iSee). It’s as easy as taking a picture, and takes just a couple of seconds. Screening is for early detection and treatment of amblyopia (‘lazy eye’) to prevent irreversible vision impairment. General information

The iSee Vision Screening Research Program is a pilot research program through the Lawson Health Research Institute in London, Ontario. Some of the information gathered will be used to provide data for research to inform policy on vision screening care in Ontario. There is no direct compensation for participating; however, contribution to the research will go a long way to provide healthy vision for children at risk of developing amblyopia.
