It's my birthday!

31 felt like the right time to stop and actually say it out loud. The lessons I've collected, the roles I've grown into, the parts of myself I've had to unlearn and relearn.

Being a mom, a therapist, a business owner, a partner β€” none of it comes with a manual, and I've made peace with that.

This year I'm choosing intention over hustle, depth over reach, and rest without guilt. If any of this resonates with you, I hope it feels like permission to do the same.

Here's to 31. 🎈

Emotion regulation doesn't have to look like a 6am meditation and a green smoothie.
For me it looks like calling my mom, moving my body in some way, and just checking in with myself long enough to notice if something feels stuck.
Simple. Consistent. Human.
What's one thing you do every day that genuinely helps you feel like yourself? I'd love to know. πŸ‘‡

Morning anxiety is real, and a lot of it actually starts the night before. What you do in the hours before bed sets the tone for how you wake up. A cluttered space, no prep, and a rushed wind-down routine can quietly feed that tight-chest, racing-thoughts feeling before your feet even hit the floor. These four things won't eliminate anxiety overnight, but they're small enough to actually do and meaningful enough to notice a difference.Save this one for the next time your mornings feel harder than they should. 🀍

Posting this a little early as a heads up.

Mother's Day is a day I choose not to post, and I want to be upfront about why. For so many people, it's a complicated, tender, and sometimes really painful day.

Loss, estrangement, infertility, grief, complicated relationships with mothers or with their own motherhood journey β€” it all gets stirred up.

Flooding feeds with celebration content on a day that's heavy for many just doesn't feel right to me.

So on May 11th, you won't hear from me. But I'm thinking of all of you β€” the moms who are exhausted, the ones who are grieving, the ones still waiting, and the ones quietly holding so much.

You are seen. 🀍

Therapists are human too, and yes, we have triggers just like everyone else.

Being in this work doesn't make me immune to feeling frustrated when boundaries get steamrolled, when someone is deeply committed to avoiding growth, or when people choose patterns they know aren't working for them.

If anything, doing this work has made me more attuned to these things, not less.

The difference is I have tools to notice it, name it, and not let it run the show. That's the whole point, right?

Anything on this list hit a little close to home for you too? Tell me in the comments. πŸ‘‡

A few honest notes from my phone as a working mom running a solo practice from home.

No 5am wake-ups. Some screen time. A nanny two days a week. A therapist of my own. And yes, I absolutely count down to nap time.

None of this is the highlight reel version of motherhood, but it's what actually keeps me functional, present (enough), and able to show up for my clients and my daughter.

We don't talk enough about what it actually takes to do this. The invisible load of running a business while raising a tiny human is real, and pretending otherwise doesn't serve anyone.

If you're a working mom doing the same kind of juggling act, I see you. Drop a πŸ™‹ in the comments if any of these hit close to home.

Kate came to me with a clear vision for her practice and zero clarity on how to get there. Sound familiar?

Over 6 months together, we rebranded Anchor Point Therapy from the ground up, built a marketing plan that actually fit her life, and filled her caseload with clients who are a true match for her work.

Her biggest takeaway? That she can do this.
That's the shift I love most. Not just the strategy stuff (though we do a lot of that), but the moment a therapist goes from doubting herself to trusting her instincts in her own business.

If you're a solo practice owner who's been sitting with a vision you haven't been able to move on yet, I'd love to be in your corner.

Sometimes the healthiest step is to observe and let people show you who they are and respond accordingly. Growth comes from experiences, including the ones where you need to step back for your own well-being. Save this post as a reminder for any moments where detachment is a theme in your life.

Hot take: traditional therapy culture has made therapists afraid to be human. πŸ‘€

I'm a millennial therapist, and I do things differently β€” on purpose.

βœ”οΈ I wear slippers in session
βœ”οΈ I share emotions with you (because I'm a person too)
βœ”οΈ I flex around your needs
βœ”οΈ I self-disclose β€” when it actually helps you
βœ”οΈ I'm upfront about my capacity, always

This is what relatability looks like in a therapy room. And it doesn't make me less professional β€” it makes me more effective.

Save this if you're looking for a therapist who actually gets it. πŸ”–

Some days feel heavier than others.
If today is one of those days, here are a few gentle reminders to hold onto:

β˜• You’re allowed to move slower today.
β˜• Not everything needs to be figured out right now.
β˜• Rest is productive too.
β˜• Your feelings are valid, even if you don’t fully understand them yet.
β˜• You’re doing the best you can with what you’re carrying.

Hard days are part of being human β€” they don’t erase your strength, growth, or progress. Be gentle with yourself today. 🀍
