The McCormick Care Group is a non-denominational charitable organization based in London, Ontario, providing compassionate care to the community.

McCormick Care Group operates McCormick Home, a long-term care facility for seniors; McCormick Dementia Services, to provide care and support to people living in the community with dementia and their care partners; and McCormick Dementia Research, to push innovation in dementia care and develop new ways to manage dementia for people and their families. While each plays a unique role in caring for those with dementia, they’re all guided by the same principles for providing compassionate care.

During the last week of June, we took an inspiring leap forward at McCormick Care Group — investing in our people through immersive, hands-on Emotional Intelligence workshops. Together, we explored what it truly means to care, connect, and lead, learning not just through theory but through practice, play, and real conversation. A powerful reminder that at the heart of excellent care is human connection. 💜✨

We are honoured to be featured in Western University’s The Caregiver’s Journey, which shares the powerful story of Beth Fitzmaurice, a care partner who found connection, education, and community through McCormick Dementia Services.�At McCormick, she attended support groups, participated in care partner education classes, and served on our care partner council. She discovered a safe space to learn, share openly, and feel truly understood during some challenging times.�As she shared:�“I found caregiving can be very lonely. We’re excited to share photos from our recent Annual General Meeting, where we looked back on a year of strong momentum and meaningful transition at McCormick Care Group.

Under the leadership of our CEO, Karen Johnson, and with the dedication of Lisa Maynard and Becky Clark, we strengthened our operations and renewed our commitment to excellence. As we celebrate our 151st year, we remain dedicated to delivering high-quality, innovative dementia care while investing in the people, partnerships, and systems that support it.

We were pleased to tour Board Chair Amy Gibbons, Vice Chair Beth Mitchell, and Board Member Linda Ballantyne around the Bernie & Beverley Zaifman Learning & Development Centre at McCormick Care Group.

As a future hub for innovation in education, training, and dementia care, the Centre reflects our commitment to advancing excellence in the field and investing in those who care for others. We’re grateful to our board members for their ongoing support and leadership as we bring this vision to life.

This week, we hosted an engaging LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® facilitation session for our Dementia Services, where our team explored challenges, unlocked creativity, and built shared understanding—brick by brick.
Using LEGO® bricks, we brought abstract ideas to life and uncovered what truly matters in designing a high-performing ADP environment.
