Commencez à brosser lorsque votre bébé a quatre dents.

Because you remove your aligners to brush and floss, it’s a breeze to clean your teeth the same way you always have.
Researchers have found that people wearing traditional dentures or have not replaced missing teeth have a higher risk for malnutrition because it’s more difficult to chew fruits, vegetables, nuts, and meat. This means they sometimes avoid these nutritious foods. If you suspect this is a problem, please talk to us about dental implants. They’re a strong, long-term solution that lets you eat anything you’d like — even steak, apples, and corn on the cob!

We use a shade guide to make restorations — such as a crown, veneer, or filling — look as natural as possible. The guide allows us to match the colour of the restoration with the surrounding teeth. We also need to take into consideration the thickness and opacity of the restoration to make sure the final colour blends in with patients’ smiles.
Popcorn? Crunchy nuts? Sticky dried fruits or candy? You can eat whatever you’d like by simply removing your clear aligners first. Just be sure to brush and floss afterward, and don’t forget to put them back in!

Chewing sugar-free gum in between meals can help fight cavities. It increases the saliva flow in the mouth, which washes away bits of food and the acid that forms in the mouth while eating. The minerals in the saliva also help to strengthen the tooth enamel. Plus, gum with xylitol sweetener has the added benefit of preventing bacteria from sticking to the teeth! Just remember that chewing sugar-free gum is not a substitute for brushing and flossing.

How do you care for your child’s teeth?
Start cleaning your baby’s mouth before they have teeth. Use a baby toothbrush or a soft, clean, damp cloth or gauze to gently wipe their gums. Don’t use toothpaste until their teeth emerge.
Begin brushing when they have four teeth. Use a child-sized toothbrush with soft bristles and a small amount of toothpaste — about the size of a grain of rice. Gently brush their teeth in circles for two minutes.
At three years old, children can start brushing their own teeth with help. Use a pea-sized amount of toothpaste. Make sure they spit out any toothpaste and saliva after they finish brushing.
Children are usually ready to begin brushing their own teeth at age six. It helps to use a timer to let them know how long they need to keep brushing.
