It is with overwhelming sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beverley Patricia Kobal who left us June 12th, 2025, a day before her 81st birthday.

Bev was born on June 13th, 1944 in Cookstown, Ontario, first born to Muriel and Stanley Bacon.

Bev brought joy & laughter to everyone she encountered. Her infectious sprit and bubbly personality will be deeply missed. She treasured her family, close friends and although had many debilitating health challenges, would never miss an opportunity to be with them.

Her passions included horseback riding and being the best receptionist ever!

She is survived by her sister, Jude D. Herman, sons, Terry J Webster and Lori, Chris K Webster and grandsons, Eric Webster, Logan Webster & Brenten Vercruysse.

Bevs’ Celebration of Life will include immediate family & close friends.

God/Jesus, we know you will welcome Bev into your Kingdom with open arms but please be aware, you will have your hands full😄

Valerie Anne Hazlett (née Daly)

July 28, 1950 – June 2, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Valerie Anne Hazlett, beloved Mother, Nana, and friend, on June 2, 2025, in London, Ontario. Born in Kitchener on July 28, 1950, Valerie lived a full and vibrant life defined by independence, humour, and resilience.

Valerie was a devoted mother to her only child, Julie Gillen (Gilchrist), and loving mother-in-law to Sean Gillen. She was a proud and adoring Nana to Andrew, Daniel, Colin, and Connor, all of whom were the light of her life.

Professionally, Valerie had a long and accomplished career in the security and energy industries. She held numerous leadership roles across Ontario, known for her sharp insight, strong work ethic, and dedication. From launching businesses to mentoring teams, she left a legacy of excellence and integrity.

Outside of work, Valerie had a zest for life — she loved animals, travel, and cherished time with her friends and family. Fiercely independent, brave until her final moments, and armed with a wicked sense of humour, Valerie was truly unforgettable. She will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held:

Passed away peacefully at LHSC – Victoria Hospital, on Monday April 26, 2025, at the age of 83 years.

Predeceased by her loving husband of many years, Ronald Heffernan (2023). Loving mother of Melanie Cadotte (nee Heffernan) & husband Rick Cadotte. Cherished grandmother of Heather Baumann & partner Justin Frias and Dylan Baumann. Great Grandmother of Ella Cadotte & Stella Frias. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at a later date.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lawrence Edward Wilhelm after a long illness. Lawrence passed April 6, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at University Hospital in London, Ontario in his 85th year.

Lawrence will be missed by his wife of 31 years, Donna (nee Ditchfield), his brother Howard (Iris), and his sister Marlene Giangualano (Ralph).

Loving father to Ed Wilhelm (Collette) and Shelley Hautala-Minihane (Mike). Step-father to Rick Rudy (Leslie), Michael Sutherland (Kristine), Jim Sutherland (Sarrah), and Billy Sutherland.

Grandfather to 17 and Great-grandfather to 13.

Predeceased by his first wife, Rose (nee Chegahno) (1989), his son Michael (2013), his parents Irwin and Edna, his sisters Margorie Facey and Lorna Cavers, and his brother Gerry.

Lawrence worked for Fisher Controls for 38 years and drove for Enterprise for 20 years.

Known by many as Rats, Lawrence had a handshake, a nickname, and a laugh for anyone he met. His boisterous personality will be greatly missed around the euchre table.

Cremation has already taken place. A celebration of life to follow at a later date.

George Carveth Hall

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Carveth Hall peacefully on February 2nd, 2025 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Sandra “Dianne” Hall for 65 years. Loving father of Gordon Hall, Greg Hall (Cindy), Jodi Lammiman and Karen Goble (Shane). Proud grandfather of Caitlin, Erin, Amanda, Cordell, Renee, Nicholas, Zachary, Logan and great grandfather to Aiden.

George was predeceased by his son Gordon Hall, his sisters, Irene Wood, Joan Ratelle and Maryanne Cull and will be missed by his cousins, nieces and nephews.

George was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences. His favorite place was spending time at the lake with family.

He will be remembered for all the moments he shared with his family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before him. He will be missed dearly.

George will live in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 16th from 1-4pm at the family residence in Byron. For those who wish the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society (https://alzheimer.ca/en), to help fund vital research and support those affected by this devastating disease.

James (Jimmy) G. Varga

London, Ontario, formerly of Rodney, passed on January 22, 2025 in Victoria Hospital, London, after a long battle with lung cancer.

Born in Leamington Ontario December 28, 1941, Jimmy was a kind, loving person to all. He was a very hard worker and prided himself on making residential and business lawns and gardens, look beautiful.

He worked for many years on father's to***co farm and later in London for over 30 years, as caretaker at 169 Wharncliffe Rd. at Cove Rd. strip plaza, He beautified the landscape there for many many years and the great people at Hecny properties treated him like family and often said Jimmy treated their property like it was his own. As the proprietor of A2 Handy Man Services, he did gardening and maintenance work for many London residents. Jimmy, as been said, was "as honest and trust worthy as the day is long."

Jimmy was the 14th of a family of 15 kids. Survived by sister Helen, St. Thomas and brothers Ernie (Burlington) and Danny (St. Thomas) and many nieces and nephews.

Jimmy loved all animals and on his wishes, his ashes will be interred along with his beloved cat "Fluffy" with mother's (Emerenc) and father's (Dezzo) grave site in Leamington Ontario.

The Varga family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to all the medical staff who attended and cared for Jimmy during his many visits to the cancer centre and his short, 47 day confinement in hospital.

Jimmy lives on in our hearts and will be remembered always.

Susan Rebecca (Corben) Gratton

Our hearts are heavy and full of sadness as we announce the passing of Susan Rebecca (Corben) Gratton. Born in London Ontario (1962-2025). A radiant light in our lives who left us on January 19, 2025.

Known for her infectious laughter, kindness, “say it like it is with added commentary way,” and love of animals. Susan (Sue) touched every soul she met. Her sweet yet feisty disposition illuminated her days, and her love for family was the guiding star in her life.

She is survived by her cherished daughters Carrie and Cynthia (Robert), precious grandchildren Jonathon, Peyton, Kaiden and Avery, her devoted sibling Tracey (Michael), significant partner Peter, and fur baby Abby, who will forever carry her warmth in their hearts. Predeceased by her treasured mom Betty, father David, brothers Richard and Steven, and pets Toy and Sasha.

A celebration of her beautiful life will be announced at a later date where we invite all who knew and loved her to share stories and reminisce about the extraordinary woman she was.
