Be empowered. Be informed. Birth your way.

WTF Prenatal isn’t your typical prenatal class.

No scripts.

No one-size-fits-all advice.

No pressure to birth a certain way.

This is a real, raw, and interactive experience designed to meet you exactly where you are.

Whether you’re planning a home birth, hospital birth, working with a midwife, doctor, or doula…

this class is about your choices, your body, and your confidence.

Inside, we go deeper than the basics:
🌿 understanding your options (all of them)
🌿 building trust in your body and intuition
🌿 learning comfort measures that actually work
🌿 navigating informed consent and decision-making
🌿 creating a flexible birth plan that reflects you
🌿 preparing for postpartum, not just birth

Because birth doesn’t follow a script.

And there is no “right” way, only your way.

This is the kind of education that leaves you feeling grounded, informed, and ready, no matter how your birth unfolds.

Today we're celebrating the IBCLCs on our team ♡

An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant is the gold standard when it comes to infant feeding support. From latching challenges to pumping questions, supply concerns, or more complex feeding journeys, IBCLCs bring both deep clinical knowledge and compassionate care to the families they support.

Feeding your baby isn't always easy and no one should have to navigate it alone.

We're incredibly grateful to have IBCLCs within The Collaborative Doula Collective who are dedicated to meeting families exactly where they are, offering guidance, reassurance, and support every step of the way.

We also thank them for answering our doulas questions and helping us trouble shoot with clients within our own doula scope. Collaborative care in it's truest form.

To our IBCLCs: thank you for the patience, wisdom, and heart you bring to this work. The impact you have on families is immeasurable.

If you're looking for feeding support, our IBCLCs are here to help. Send us a message to learn more about working with our team.

There are books you read.

And then there are books that read you back.

Over the next couple of months, The Collective Thoughts Book Club is diving into Thriving Postpartum: Embracing the Indigenous Wisdom of La Cuarentena by Pānquetzani and this one is not a skim and shelf situation. This is a slow sip. A margin-filled. Highlighter in hand. Circle up and unpack it kind of read.

This book invites us to rethink postpartum not as something to “bounce back” from, but as a sacred threshold. A season of protection. Nourishment. Community. Ceremony. It brings forward traditional Indigenous wisdom around La Cuarentena and asks us, as doulas, birth workers, parents, and advocates:

What would it look like if we truly honoured postpartum as a rite of passage?

What if thriving was the expectation, not survival?

And here is the part we are most excited about…

✨ On April 26th from 5 to 7 PM EST on Zoom, we will be joined LIVE by the author herself, Pānquetzani, alongside Amy Silva, Founder of The Collaborative Doula Collective, for an open and powerful conversation about the book.

We will:
• Reflect on key teachings from the text
• Explore how this wisdom can shape modern postpartum care
• Ask questions directly to the author
• Sit in dialogue about culture, ceremony, rest, and reclamation
And so much more!

This gathering is open to everyone. Doulas. Midwives. Birth workers. Parents. Students. Community members. If postpartum matters to you, you belong in this room.

Come as you are.
Bring your questions.
Bring your curiosity.
Bring your reverence for the fourth trimester.

Let’s move beyond surviving postpartum.
Let’s talk about thriving.

Supporting Black birth is not a moment. It’s a commitment. February 2026 and beyond. 🖤

In this powerful reflection, Keegan Prempeh reminds us that perinatal and infant well-being is deeply tied to social justice, cultural safety, and whose voices are centered in care.

This blog explores what it really means to show up for Black families through advocacy, systemic change, and sustained action, not just performative solidarity.

Birth and death are not opposites.

They are thresholds.
Places where time slows.

Where breath is held.

Where who we were begins to loosen,

and who we are becoming waits quietly nearby.
This is where doula work lives.

Not in perfect outcomes or tidy stories,

but in presence. In dignity. In being willing

to stay when things are tender, uncertain, and real.

The Collaborative Doula Collective was built from this same knowing; that care is not meant to be siloed,
and those who hold others through life's biggest crossings
also deserve to be held.

From Hope to Legacy was born from this knowing.
Every birth begins with hope.
Every death leaves a legacy.
And everything in between asks us to show up—together.

This conference is a gathering for those who work at these crossings.
A space for learning, remembering, grieving, celebrating,
and telling the truth about the care we offer and the care we need.
Not just honoring moments.

Honouring thresholds.
Because none of us are meant to hold them alone. 🤍

We are *so* excited to be hosting a Spinning Babies® Workshop with Lisa Cryderman right here in our community.

This workshop invites a powerful shift in perspective by asking one simple, game changing question: Where’s baby? From there, everything opens. New ways to understand labour progress. New tools to support physiology. Less force. More ease. More room.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:
• Support comfort in pregnancy and ease in childbirth
• Improve fetal positioning without manipulating the baby
• Identify challenges sooner and respond gently
• Work with the body’s innate ability to create space and resolve dystocia

Whether you’re a doula, midwife, nurse, educator, or birth worker of any kind, this training offers a practical, embodied lens that can truly change how you show up in birth spaces.

💬 What’s one labour pattern or challenge you’re most curious to understand differently this year? Drop it in the comments.

🎟 Save this post, share it with your birth work bestie, and join us for a day of learning that just might change everything.

Doulas, can we talk about the obsession with being busy?

Packed calendars. Overflowing inquiries. Saying yes even when your body whispers no. It's becoming the norm, and it's burning doulas our faster than ever.

Here's the truth that isn't said enough:
🔥 A burnt-out doula cannot offer grounded, ethical care.
🔥 Saying no is an act of love; for you and your clients.
🔥 Rest is a radical refusal to treat yourself as infinite.
🔥 Community matters. Referrals matter. Boundaries matter.

Seasoned doulas: welcome the newer ones.
New doulas: know that you belong in this work.
All doulas: you are not meant to do this alone.

Before you take on one more inquiry, ask yourself: "If this were my client, what would I advise them to do?"

Honour that answer. Honour yourself.

Busy isn't better. Being well is.

The holidays can be beautiful, and they can also be overwhelming.

Expectations rise. Emotional bandwidth shrinks. Old wounds resurface. New boundaries become necessary.

Whether you’re navigating fertility challenges, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, grief, or loss, you’re allowed to protect your peace this season.

✨ You’re allowed to say no.
✨ You’re allowed to choose rest.
✨ You’re allowed to skip traditions that hurt.
✨ You’re allowed to keep your plans private.
✨ You’re allowed to set limits that make you feel safe and supported.

Your boundaries are not a burden. They are an act of care; for you, your baby, your healing, and your heart.

If this season feels tender, heavy, or complicated, the Collaborative Doula Collective is here to support you with grounding guidance, emotional care, and space to breathe.

You don’t have to navigate the holidays alone.
