Breast cancer can happen at any age and conversations around breast cancer screening are important. If you are 40-49, talk with your healthcare provider to make an informed decision about whether earlier screening is right for you.

If you are 50-74, a mammogram is recommended every 2 years by The Ontario Breast Screening Program.
Naturopathic Doctors can also review your risk assessment with you.

In St. Thomas, STEGH can be contacted directly for a self referral https://www.Ontario health.ca/system/reporting/wait-times

2 months in with my cool little dude. I thought I’d share some local resources that were tremendously helpful to me in the first 6 weeks of healing:
😉 - IVs for nutrient repletion where needed, to provide more energy and help you feel a bit more “you”
- this was helpful for lactation/breastfeeding support (because WOW, amiright), and Dr. Andy for a peds chiropractor for Ben. She has been so helpful for a mild lip and tongue tie and we’ve been able to avoid a release so far with stretches and exercises.
- Highly recommend Carla for pre and post partum physio. This was so important for organ health and getting back to exercise. She caught things no one else had looked at that would have impacted me long term.

I’ve really focused on taking it easy, listening to my body and trying not to push myself too far too fast.
Looking forward to coming back in July! 😊

our new favourite little person, Ben.

we’ve been spending the last month getting to know each other and finding (or not finding) moments in between for sleep.
We are so in love and happy and sleep deprived

This is a common theme coming up in a lot of my visits lately.
It can be really hard to squeeze in self care when we lack the time, especially when we are busy taking care of other people. However, it’s what helps to keep us grounded and buffer against adrenal fatigue or burnout.
Beyond supportive supplements, Do the little things that make you happy; treat yourself well and don’t forget to ask for help!

I am often asked whether I take the supplements I recommend to my patients, or if I follow the same lifestyle advice I give. ⠀
And the short answer is YES!⠀

I take the supplements that are indicated for me and my health, and when I can fit it in I even do IVs with Dr. Jen! And yes, I am just as picky with my supplement quality for myself as I am with my patients 😊⠀

Self care is more important than ever and I prioritize this with my patients a lot, and really make an effort to squeeze some time in for myself as well. Practice what you preach, as they say 😉
