What do you need to know about upper eyelid surgery? 👁️✨
During this procedure, we focus on removing excess skin from the upper eyelids. It’s a relatively quick surgery that can be performed under local anesthesia.
Patients often feel great after the procedure, and we’re usually able to see them walking around and feeling well the next day. It’s amazing to witness their refreshed appearance and renewed confidence! 💫

A crucial aspect of breast surgery is understanding the breast footprint, the anatomical landmark where breast tissue rests against the chest wall. 🌟 It’s important for patients to grasp this, as the breast footprint is the natural position of the breast tissue and cannot be changed.
While there are advanced surgical techniques that can adjust the breast’s footprint, these are typically reserved for specific cases. This patient, who has a lower breast footprint, had both an augmentation and mastopexy. The augmentation increases the size of the breast, while the lift rearranges the breast tissue and nipple-areola complex. But neither technique can shift the natural position of the breast higher on the chest wall.
The result? An excellent, natural-looking outcome that enhances her silhouette beautifully. ✨

Dr Hana Farhang Khoee is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada with extensive experience in both Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. A graduate of the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Farhang has worked in hospitals and private clinics throughout Ontario and the United States. She completed her residency in Plastic Surgery at McMaster University, followed by a fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery at the world-renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. There she was mentored by the world leaders in Plastic Surgery to manage complex cases related to breast, head and neck, extremity, and perineal cancer reconstruction.
Upon her return to Canada, she began working as a Trauma Surgeon at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, dealing with complicated traumatic injuries related to the craniofacial skeleton, as well as upper and lower extremity limb trauma. She also worked at the McLean Cosmetic Surgery Clinic, where she furthered her aesthetic surgical experience and conducted female-to-male (FTM) chest masculinisation surgeries for transgender patients.
In the summer of 2017, Dr Farhang was recruited to Windsor, Ontario to develop a Breast Reconstruction Program – a service the city had been without for over 10 years. She brings with her a wealth of experience in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery and has since performed the city’s first immediate implant-based breast reconstruction in over a decade and its first chest masculinisation surgery for a female to male transgender patient.
Dr Farhang is intensely committed to improving patient outcomes and quality of life following surgery. As a part of this, her practice employs “Breast-Q,” a personalized questionnaire specifically developed for breast reconstruction patients to better evaluate their needs and improve long-term outcomes.
In addition to her role at Windsor Regional Hospital, Dr. Farhang is an Adjunct Professor at Western University where she mentors young doctors and works closely surgical residents. She has a genuine interest in education and is pursuing her Master's of Health Professions Education (MHPE) degree at Maastricht University and at the Centre for Education Research & Innovation (CERI) at Western University. This is an internationally recognized program in the field of health education. As a devoted scholar, Dr. Farhang regularly attends international conferences and additional training courses, keeping up-to-date on the most recent techniques and advancements in the field of plastic surgery.
