A little about me....
My name is Marlene Mendonca and I have been a practicing Registered Massage Therapist for 11 years. I was born and raised in London, Ontario, where I graduated from Medix’s 2200-hour program.
I first came to know massage therapy by being a client and receiving massages for chronic pain. I soon realized the potential that massage had in facilitating my own healing. In my own personal life, I prefer choosing natural alternatives and was amazed at the results and decided at that moment that I wanted to be a massage therapist.
Soon after graduating I benefited from working with other massage therapists where I learned a great deal of knowledge from my peers. I have worked with physiotherapists,where my clinical focus was on rehabilitation. I believe in working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals in order to meet the needs of clients.
Through years of clinical experience, I have obtained extensive knowledge of the human body and customize each treatment to suit the needs of the individual. I believe in taking the time to get to know clients and working with them to reach their goals. I incorporatea wide range of techniques which include Swedish techniques, myofascial release, active release, trigger point therapy, hydrotherapy, stretching, deep tissue and relaxation treatments, hot stone therapy, cupping, aromatherapy, pre-and post-natal massage and joint mobilizations.
