Clenching your jaw? Grinding your teeth? You’re not alone.

Jaw clenching and teeth grinding (often without realizing it) can overload the temporalis and other jaw muscles, leading to headaches, facial pain, TMJ irritation, and neck tension.

One of the biggest steps in treatment is **awareness**.

Try these simple tips:
• Check in during the day — are your teeth touching? They should be slightly apart at rest

• Keep your tongue resting gently on the roof of your mouth

• Relax your shoulders and let your jaw feel heavy

• Avoid chewing gum or clenching during stress

• Practice slow nasal breathing to reduce tension

At Physiohaus, we often combine manual therapy, exercise, education, and acupuncture/dry needling to help calm overactive jaw muscles.

Physiohaus Health + Wellness

We are a skilled collaborative group of multidisciplinary healthcare practitioners. We offer Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Massage Therapy and semi-private yoga in a modern, professional clinic in downtown London Ontario. Our clinicians are skilled in dry needling, acupuncture and intramuscular stimulation (IMS) and are CAMPT certified. We have a certified strength and conditioning specialist, a progressive approach to treating temporomandibular dysfunction, and a strong focus on running and cycling injuries. Our clinicians range from Instructors at the Western School of Physical Therapy to those who mentor other clinicians and offer community-based educational seminars. We collaborate and review clinical cases, discuss current research, and have a focus on treating with best practice in mind. We are rooted in evidence informed treatment and are always keen to get our patients better .. faster!
