if you have been in clinic this week, you may have met up with Javad working with our Physiotherapists!

Javad Raeesi (he/him) is an experienced Physiotherapist and PhD candidate in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Western University.

Javad enjoys spine and shoulder rehabilitation and brings a patient-centric approach to his practice.

He has extensive training in manual therapy, holding certifications in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), Mulligan techniques, and advanced mobilization methods that complement his evidence-informed therapeutic exercise.

Recently, injury prevention experts developed a guideline for rehabilitation clinicians to use to help you avoid getting a knee injury.

WHAT EXERCISES SHOULD YOU DO?

The program should include the following:

(A) Walking hamstring stretches are an example of dynamic stretching for the leg muscles. (B) Repeated short sprints are one type of running drill to include in your exercise program. (C) Squats are a good choice for building your leg strength. (D) Side planks will help you build your core strength. (E) Add jumps to your training program as a plyometric exercise. (F) Check out our videos to find more exercises to try!

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU DO THE EXERCISES?

Multiple times per week. Each session should take at least 20 minutes to complete—make sure you spend a minimum of 30 minutes per week doing the exercises.
