🌸Happy Speech and Hearing Month!🌸

The theme for this month is “Access Changes Everything”

“Access to speech-language pathology and audiology services can profoundly shape a person’s life. This year’s theme – Access Changes Everything – highlights how essential communication health services are across the lifespan. When individuals have timely access to these services, they experience stronger health outcomes, deeper social connection, and greater opportunities to participate fully in school, work, and community life.” - https://www.sac-oac.ca/speech-hearing-month/

We love what we do and are always here to help!

Hearing is caring 🦻

Hearing isn’t just about sound! It’s about connection, belonging, and shared experiences. Supporting hearing health helps people stay involved, confident, and emotionally close to the people they love.

We will be taking the day to spend with our family and friends, but will reopen tomorrow.

Have a great day!

On Remembrance Day we pause to honour the individuals who bravely served and sacrificed for our freedom.

Many veterans live with hearing loss and tinnitus caused by gunfire and loud noise exposure. These invisible injuries serve as powerful echoes of their service. We reflect not only on the quiet that symbolizes remembrance, but the importance of protecting and restoring the hearing of those who have given so much. Through continued care, we strive to ensure every veterans voice and story can be heard, loud and clear.

Thank you all for your service.

Hearing plays a vital role in how we connect with the world, yet many people wait years after noticing a change before seeking help.
Here are some reasons to get checked out:

1. Your brain depends on sound!
When hearing declines, your brain must work harder to fill in the gaps. This can lead to listening fatigue, and puts stress on the brain.

2. Hearing loss often happens gradually
Most hearing changes develop slowly, making them difficult to notice. You may find yourself asking people to repeat themselves or turning up the TV, common signs that get brushed off as “normal aging.” A hearing check can detect subtle changes before they begin to affect your confidence, relationships, and independence!

3. Some hearing loss can be prevented!
The audiologists in our clinic can recommend custom hearing protection, safe listening habits, and technology suited to your lifestyle!

Early and regular hearing evaluations are essential for protecting your long-term communication and quality of life.
Getting your hearing checked is quick, painless, and empowering! Whether or not you’ve noticed changes, a baseline exam can help you stay ahead of your health and maintain strong communication throughout life.

Your ears (and your 🧠) will thank you!
