• Out Of Office •

I will be out of the therapy office July 25th - August 8th. All emails and phone calls will be returned within 2 business days once I’m back to work. If you are in crisis, please visit the resources on my website to get support.

I’m booking into September, so will be holding off on *new clients* until then and for existing clients with appointments, please note that rebooking may be a longer wait than usual.

Thank you, as always, to my clients for showing up for themselves and being big supports of my time off 💓!
And biggest thanks, to my co-worker the sun ☀️ for helping take care of everyone 😂😉! (If you know, you know)!

When you’re over there validating and offering compassion and nurturing, consider how you can apply those same strategies to your own self-talk.

You deserve all of those things too. 💗

When things feel big and giant and beyond the grasp of us impacting anything, consider how you making your piece of the world better, accelerates change. This can be your version of small. Things like starting that pay it forward in the drive thru, or reaching out in your community to volunteer, or upgrading your certifications in your profession so you can excel at your job. Maybe you can’t suddenly become president or reach the influence of big platform citizens but what you do in your piece of the world matters. Let’s at least start there. 🌎✌🏼

Day 5 of “It’s okay to feel” with .wellness.with.krista

Burnout, something we do not talk enough about. And yet, is running rampant right now.

Tips to gain more control and support yourself in reducing burnout:

• Ending your work day: create a ritual that you can do at the end of your shift to leave work behind. Perhaps it’s taking your lanyard off, and saying that’s the end of my day.

• Utilize your transition time to home, whether it's driving, taking public transit or walking. Are you able to listen to your favourite music or a podcast that interests you, can you read a book? Focus on shifting the focus back onto you during this time.

• Vocalize your needs at home.

• Connect with people on your terms.

• Make time for self-care.

You’re not alone. Rates are high right now. Reach out for support if you need it. ❤️

Goosebumps.
It likely won’t be the only quote I share from Atlas of the Heart…..
This one - in the intro 😂 - struck me immediately because sessions so often centre around this idea of how can we get you inward rather than depending on external.

How beautiful a reminder is it that at the end of the day, what we need is somewhere within?

Day 3 of “It’s okay to feel” with .wellness.with.krista.

This pandemic, school, work, decision fatigue, divisive times, caring for little ones, daily life stresses, relationship challenges, the weather…..it’s a lot! It’s okay to feel overwhelmed.

Take a breath, and take a step back from the situation.

Make a to-do list and start with priorities.

Be kind to yourself, remember one day, one hour at a time.

Remind yourself that there’s a whole lot of life happening beyond these acute stressors.

Talk it out with someone.

Practice acceptance for what you cannot control.

As Ashley says…”how can you get back to just being ‘whelmed’ (not a word 😂)?

It’s day but also, you don’t have to talk if it doesn’t feel safe for you. And you don’t have to listen if it isn’t in your capacity to do so.

Maybe we can just remind each other that we see and hear the struggles and the challenges and we’ll show up as we can.

Talking.
Listening.
Making space.
Showing up.
Taking a beat.

It’s all part of how we ease the topic of mental wellness.
