Today is World Diabetes Day. This year the theme is diabetes and well-being, with access to quality care everyone with diabetes has a chance to live well. Access to hearing care is included in this health care for overall well being.

Did you know hearing loss is twice as common in diabetics compared to their peers without diabetes. Overtime, high and low blood sugar can cause nerve damage to the inner ear leading to this increased rate of hearing loss in diabetics. It is important for everyone, especially diabetics, to get their hearing checked regularly just as you do for your eyes and teeth!
