Congratulations to the wonderful town of Seaforth and all the incredible volunteers on your 150th anniversary homecoming celebration! We know how much time and energy has gone into making this event a success, and we can't wait to see the town buzzing with excitement. Even though we've only been part of the community since 2019, we truly appreciate the rich history and are so proud to be here. Wishing everyone a happy, safe, and amazing homecoming weekend!

This one hits a little too close to home.

Not sure how much lower one can sink than to steal metal for scrap… from the dead.

Stratford Police are investigating a rash of vandalism and thefts at Avondale Cemetery. Several bronze and black-and-gold headstone plaques have been reported stolen or damaged, believed to have been taken sometime after May 22.

If you have a loved one at Avondale, you may want to stop by and check their site.

There are no suspects yet. Anyone with information is asked to contact Stratford Police.

Some stories just leave you shaking your head.

April 9, 2025 was a proud day for us at Haskett Funeral Home. We hosted the Ontario Funeral Service Association (OFSA) Spring Meeting (for Southwestern Ontario) at our Exeter location. We had many informative speakers talk to us about various topics and enjoyed the day catching up with others in our industry, and ended the day with a tour of our funeral home. To attend the meeting, OFSA asked that each person attending consider a donation to Jessica's House Hospice - Huron County. This raised $3300.00 from the attendees and Haskett Funeral Home matched the donation, totaling $6600.00, which we are extremely proud of! We would like to thank OFSA for asking us to host the Spring Meeting and all of the attendees for joining us for a great day.

We’re incredibly grateful.

When we opened the doors to our new Exeter location two years ago, we were stepping into the unknown—transforming an old Canadian Tire store into a modern funeral facility wasn’t exactly conventional.

Today, being featured on the cover of Canadian Funeral News is a humbling reminder of how far we've come. We couldn’t have done it without the support of our incredible team, the communities that continue to trust us, and the generations of Hasketts and team members who came before us and laid the foundation for everything we’re building on.
