♥️From my heart to yours — a year-end thank you♥️

As this year comes to an end, I want to take a moment to offer my deepest gratitude. 💚

To my long-time clients — some of whom I’m honoured to have worked with since 2003, when I first began my massage therapy career — thank you for your trust, loyalty, and for finding your way back to my table over the years. Reconnecting with so many of you since returning to Nova Scotia has been incredibly meaningful.

To my newer clients — those who’ve found me since I’ve been back and practicing here — thank you for taking a chance on my work and welcoming me so warmly. Your trust means everything, and I’m so grateful to be part of your wellness journey.

I also want to thank the incredible ladies at Within The Skin, whom I’m proud to call my work family. The energy of a space matters, and I feel truly supported and inspired by the people I work alongside every day.

One thing that’s really stood out this year is how many of you are resonating with my signature blend of therapeutic bodywork and energy reset — deep, effective hands-on work paired with nervous-system regulation and restorative energy care. It’s the kind of treatment I seek out myself, and it’s been beautiful to see how deeply it’s landing for so many of you.

For those who’ve been following along but haven’t booked yet — I offer a wide range of care, from more traditional therapies like pain relief, stress fix, and cupping, to integrative sessions that combine deep tissue with energy work, intuitive bodywork, chakra balancing, and sound healing. There’s truly something here for every body and every season of life.

📅 I’m currently fully booked through the end of the year, including the final week of December.
My next available opening is:
📅 Mon, Jan 5.

You’re always welcome to add yourself to the waitlist, or begin booking into January at your convenience.

Soul Journey Coaching™

The Practice of Self-Mastery

💚Part One: Self-Reflection & Self-Awareness💚

Before change happens, a pattern usually gets loud.

The same challenges keep showing up:
• similar conflicts at work
• repeated struggles in romantic relationships
• familiar tensions with family or friends

Eventually, many of us pause and ask:
Why does this keep happening to me?

This is often the moment we begin self-reflection.

We may start therapy, work with a coach, or turn inward in a more intentional way — trying to understand not just what is happening now, but where it comes from.

Why do I react so strongly in certain moments?
Why do I shut down, lash out, over-explain, withdraw, or people-please — even when I know it won’t actually solve the problem?

For many of us, this leads to an important realization:
our reactions didn’t come out of nowhere.

They were shaped by earlier experiences — childhood dynamics, teenage wounds, unmet needs, or moments where our nervous system learned how to protect us.

We may also begin to understand the role of the ego — which, in many ways, is our inner child.
That part of us has one primary goal:
to avoid pain at all costs.

So when something feels even slightly threatening, uncomfortable, or familiar to an old wound, that inner child grabs the wheel — and suddenly we’re reacting instead of responding.

This stage of self-awareness can feel heavy.
Many people want to rush through it or “graduate” from it quickly.

But sitting here matters.

Because this is where we begin to develop a relationship with ourselves.
We learn compassion for why we do what we do.
We start seeing patterns instead of personal failures.

It’s like laying out the pieces of a puzzle.
Nothing is fixed yet — but now we can finally see the picture forming.

And when that picture becomes clearer, we naturally arrive at the next phase of self-mastery:
accountability.

Not blame.
Not shame.
But the honest recognition that understanding ourselves is only the beginning — and that how we choose to respond going forward is where real change begins.

This is the work.
And this is just the first step. 💚

This reflection is Part One of a four-part series within
Soul Journey Coaching™ —

The Practice of Self-Mastery.

The four parts of this practice are:
1. Self-Reflection & Self-Awareness
2. Accountability
3. Integration & Tool-Building
4. Living Practice

More to come. 💚

❄️ A Winter Reset ❄️

As we move through the quiet heart of winter — whether you celebrate Christmas, Yule, both, or neither — this time of year can feel tender, heavy, or quietly overwhelming for many of us.

If your nervous system is asking for a little extra care, here are a few gentle, accessible ways to support yourself right now:

🌲 Forest grounding
A slow walk in the woods (even 10–15 minutes) helps calm the vagus nerve and regulate stress hormones. We exchange breath with the trees — we release CO₂, they offer oxygen — a literal, biological co-regulation. Snow-covered spruce forests are especially soothing to the nervous system.

☀️ Sun on your face
If the sun is out, step outside and let it touch your skin — even briefly. Just a few minutes of natural light can support mood, circadian rhythm, and those feel-good neurotransmitters we all need more of this time of year.

🔥 Heat + cold (if available)
Sauna followed by a cold dip is a powerful reset for both body and mind — boosting circulation, resilience, and endorphins. A special local shout-out to The Sweaty Panda in Oakland for those wanting to explore this safely and intentionally.

🎶 Sound + stillness
If getting outside isn’t possible, gentle sound can be just as regulating. Solfeggio frequencies, soft music, or nature sounds (YouTube has beautiful options) paired with stillness can help the nervous system downshift and restore.

🕯 A simple breath ritual you can do right now
If it feels supportive, light a candle or some sage — or simply sit where you are. Place one hand on your chest and one on your belly, and try box breathing:

• Inhale slowly through your nose for 4
• Hold the breath for 4
• Exhale gently through your mouth for 4
• Hold again for 4

Repeat this cycle 4–6 times.

Box breathing signals safety to the nervous system, helping reduce anxiety, quiet mental chatter, and gently lift stress or low mood. It’s one of the simplest ways to bring yourself back into the present moment — and you can do it anywhere, anytime.

This season isn’t about doing more.
It’s about listening, softening, and tending to yourself in ways that feel supportive — not performative.

However you honour this time of year, I wish you warmth, steadiness, and gentle moments of ease. 🌲✨
