The rumours are true… Schedulicity is no more! All booking confirmations and reminders will now be sent via Vagaro.

Just a reminder that I am no longer accepting online booking, all appointments must be booked directly through me. 😇 The app is simply used in my back office and for confirmations/reminders.

“A new stimulus is going to accelerate adaption.”

This is a great episode to check out if you’re interested in VO2 Max and general fitness.

Some key takeaways:

➡️ The best form of exercise is the one you will consistently do.
➡️ In an ideal world, lift weights 2-3x weekly. This matters for your long term health, strength and mobility.
➡️ 150 minutes of aerobic exercise per week is sufficient. One high intensity session per week is ideal.

Shoulder mobility is important for every day life, not just loading and unloading panels. 😉 If you don’t have the strength to control your body in the full range of motion of a joint you will be significantly more likely to injure yourself. I’m also just out here trying to keep up to my Mom, who is handy as heck. Stay strong, stay safe. 💪🏼

Somehow we’re already at the time of year where I’m planning work for harvest season… can anyone explain to me how that happened?! I guess time flies when you’re having fun. 😉

I’ll be taking time off for harvest once again this year. Go ahead, make your jokes about burning a combine down, I’ll wait. 🙄🤣

Specifics about appointment availability can be discussed during appointment bookings, and please trust that I will do my absolute best to care for you, whether that’s booking an appointment with me or referring you to another trusted RMT for a few weeks. I so appreciate your patience during the navigation of this busy season. I find myself including all of you in my gratitude journaling lately for your continued support while I try to balance all the joyful things in life. 💜

🌼 June Challenge 🌼

To celebrate my favourite month and being back to work, let’s do a challenge! Pictured in this post is a habit tracker (you’ll get a printable copy via email), you’re going to pick a habit that you’d like to keep track of for the month of June and use this document to keep track of it. 📊

It can be anything you want! I recommend choosing something meaningful to you, not something that doesn’t align with your truest self. 🧘🏼‍♀️

As always, there will be a draw at the end of the month and the winner will recieve a gift certificate for a 30 minute massage. 🫶🏼

This challenge was inspired by my wonderful friend, Amy, who always pushes me to be my best. 💞

Comment below if you’re interested in participating!

*I never share the winners of the challenges publicly since a massage is included in the prize, but it will be posted in my story when the draw is made. I made that decision to honour confidentiality, the only way anyone will ever find out you came to me for a treatment is if you tell them. 💜

Things I learnt during my time seeding:

1. Sometimes I do a better job than the gps. More often it does a better job than me.
2. Staying hydrated is worth stopping the tractor a few extra times a day to p*e.
3. If you find something you love that makes you look forward to getting out of bed, you should do more of that. 😇

Hey everyone! 👋🏻

I wrapped up my last massage of the month tonight and am off the next few weeks for seeding. 🌱 I’ll pop on occasionally to answer messages but it’s safe to expect delays.

It’s with mixed emotions that I announce that I will be dropping down to part time hours in the treatment room when I return in June. I appreciate your patience in the navigation of what that will look like for me.

Showing up authentically every time I step into the treatment room is my priority, and this is how I feel I can best do that. Accepting appointments when I cannot show up for you with my best energy does not serve anyone. My work is also extremely physical, and not being able to offer the same quality treatment to every single client because I’ve accepted too many for the day or week is not the way I want to run my practice.

We are so lucky in our little community to have access to another incredible registered massage therapist, with others not that far down the highway, too. I am always happy to give recommendations for the right RMT to suit your needs when you can’t get in to see me. 🤗

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and understanding. I’m excited to navigate the next chapter of the treatment room together! 💜

Hard truth: modern machinery and technology have eliminated the majority of adult physical activity. We have a machine to sweep our floors and stack our bales. Daily chores are no longer a necessity which means we move less than we ever have before as a species.

But I have good news! Picking up a fence post won’t kill you. Mopping your own floor won’t kill you. Walking to the store instead of driving won’t kill you.

I understand modern technology is a benefit for a lot of people struggling to fit everything in their day to day schedule. Why not cross some chores off the list with an automatic device that will do it for you when you’re not even home? I get the idea, and I’m not demonizing it.

I’m saying we need to move our bodies more. We need to be less afraid of hurting our backs from physical activity and more afraid of what will happen if we don’t use and move our backs for the rest of our lives.
