Thank you to the families that have supported our efforts to get things up and running. The licensing process is definitely longer than anticipated. While government subsidies were not available we gave everyone our own version of a subsidy to keep costs really low.
Unfortunately, enrolment of 6 children cannot pay our lease or our teacher.
As an additional set back, Miss Bonnie tore her Achilles Tendon and we had to close our doors for a few weeks. She is still on the mend.
With the injury and low enrolment, we have decided at this time to take a break and potentially open up again in the spring. All $75 registration fees will be refunded. Please be patient as no one will be missed. If you have any questions please email or message me for a response.

We have 3 more weeks of amazing preschool programs in October. Check out these fun and interactive themes!

Turkeys & Thanksgiving (yes we do it after Thanksgiving as the children are better able to relate their experiences) is 2 afternoons (6hrs) for $65

Pete the Cat is 3 afternoons (9 hrs) for $79

Pumpkins is also 3 afternoons (9 hrs) for $79

Here’s the next week’s Scarecrow theme Bumblebee Learning Centre! We’re so excited to offer another week of fun activities for preschool aged children 3-5 years old. The classes are Monday, Wed and Thurs afternoons at the lower level of the Town Centre @ 12:45-3:45pm. The cost is $79 or join us all month for $160.

Preschool is starting October 2nd! Intro price $160
We still haven’t received our license for subsidies! We are patiently waiting for our turn in government queue. But, we are able to run recreation programs that look exactly like preschool! For the month of October we are offering weekly day camps with the themes matching our Preschool program plan. If you sign up for all 5 weeks there is a massive discount to replace the subsidy which we aren’t able to offer yet.

We have 2 parent information sessions planned for next week. If you have your child registered or are thinking of registering please attend one of these sessions!
Because we want to focus on answering all of your questions, we would prefer if your child/children did not attend with you on this occasion.
The first session is Monday, Sept 23 @ 2:00pm
The second session is Monday, Sept 23 @ 8:00pm
You only need to attend one session located in the lower level of Town Hall.

I thought I’d do a repost/update of program fees and subsidies available! 🐝

Here is the information on classes and fees for the 24/25 school year…
We will be following the Magrath school schedule with no classes on Friday afternoons and all scheduled holidays and breaks. We will NOT be following all of the PD days.

We are in the process of becoming a fully licensed preschool, as a result, all families will be eligible for government subsidy. The rates listed below INCLUDE the universal Affordability Grant of $75 monthly. This is a flat rate per child and you do not need to apply for it.
There is also an additional subsidy of $125 per month, available to families with a household income of less than $180,000 but you must apply for this additional child subsidy. Information on how to apply will be given at our Open House.

Fees Schedule:

Registration/Supply Fee $75
(non- refundable)

2 days week (6 hours) $185 or with additional subsidy just $60 monthly

3 days a week (9 hours) $250 or with additional subsidy just $125 monthly.

Magrath school pick up or drop off and lunch supervision fee:
2 days/ week- $45 month
3 days/ week- $65 month
Sorry no additional subsidies for this add on service.

I know that everyone is looking forward to a start date. Our tentative opening is next week but we still haven’t received our license which is so important to have subsidies available for you. We are just one of hundreds of applicants in Alberta wanting to open a new preschool or daycare and are patiently waiting our turn 👍
We will keep you posted on updates and will announce our Official Open House to the Public next week.

We’re starting Recreation Programs on Tuesday afternoons for 3-5 year olds! Our first session will be Little Chefs Cooking Club. It’s open to any preschool or Kindergarten aged children starting in 2 weeks.

We’ll change it up each session and have planned other amazing themes including Crafty Kids, Bright Minds(STEM programming) and Stinger Sports (Sport/Physical Literacy).

Our tentative opening date was planned for next week BUT we have to have licensing approval from Alberta Childcare before we can open our doors. This also ensures that all families are eligible for subsidies. We are currently on a very long list of preschools and daycares starting up in Alberta this month. I don’t have a firm date at this moment but will definitely keep everyone updated. I’m so sorry for the wait 😬
On another note… We are able to start recreation programming as it doesn’t fall under the Childcare Act. We have a Little Chefs class starting soon if you’re interested! I’ll do a separate post for that program.

Our Schedule is set with a few changes to accommodate more kids!

We’ve had many conversations with moms in Magrath and there seems to be a need for programming outside of Kindergarten to make up a full day to accommodate work. So… we have made the decision to add a part time Kindergarten Supplement program as a trial for this year. Parents can choose either mornings or afternoons. We will pick up or drop off at Magrath Elementary and have lunch supervision available between classes.
