What a wonderful day it was!

We extend our sincere gratitude to the families, staff, volunteers, and, of course, our cherished residents. We thoroughly enjoyed encouraging everyone to be active, both indoors and outdoors. There were spontaneous dance parties, moments of laughter, some heartfelt tears, but predominantly an overwhelming sense of joy!

It was an honor to contribute to such a noble cause.

We successfully raised over $500! 🥳 Online donations are still welcome, but we will no longer be accepting pledges in person.

Alzheimer's disease impacts several of our residents, and providing support to them is a core value of our organization. Rhonda has been an invaluable asset to our facility, offering educational resources to families and dedicating her time to leading gentle movement exercises with our residents. We are privileged to support her efforts this month, as well as those of the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia. On May 21st, we will be organizing a "Walk for Alzheimer's" across all our households, encouraging residents to engage in physical activity. We extend an invitation to families to participate and assist their loved ones in this initiative. We hope for favorable weather conditions to allow for outdoor participation. Should you wish to contribute to this worthy cause, donations can be made to the organization on behalf of the Mahone Bay Nursing Home, under "Team Rhonda."

When the sun shines we go outside!
Today staff, family and friends were helping residents enjoy the sun. Some went for walks around the building, some just relaxing on the patio and others got out for a walk downtown.

This summer we are thinking of having a few days where food trucks come to our home. This would allow our staff to enjoy it, as well as family members be able to have lunch with their loved ones.
