This memory popped up today. 3 years ago it was real people stealing designs and falsifying our art, now it's AI. We have to stop accepting this BS.
Cheap S**t Ain't Cool + Cool S**t Ain't Cheap

Maybe I shouldn't take it to heart or take it personally but I have talked to so many Makers within the past year and this is a big struggle that we all have.
Yesterday I shared a post on my personal page by the brand which talked about why you should be supporting local Makers. When you buy from a Maker you are paying them, not some rip-off factory operation from overseas that pays their employees pennies to make stolen designs and claim it as their own on a large scale while also falsifying the idea of authenticity.
I build the majority of my patterns myself and if I don't then I buy my patterns from a reputable Maker and I try to do them justice with what I create from their pattern.
I'm a Maker, I'm an Artist. Nobody else in the world can make s**t like how I make it. Am I the best in the world? Golly, no. But am I me and does that shine through in my work? Golly, I best hope it does. So when you buy from me or buy from a Maker you are buying something genuine, something thought about, something likely ripped apart at least once because of one little imperfect that we build back better, stronger and more beautiful than before because we can't stand the thought of something leaving our shop that ain't gonna be perfect. We put our hearts into it and we put all our brains into it too.
So when you come to us because you like what we do, let us do what we do. Let us be artists, let us make you something that's so unique that nobody else will ever have something quite like it. Let us engineer something thoughtful and sustainable, you won't regret it.
And don't forget: Cheap S**t Ain't Cool + Cool S**t Ain't Cheap

🌻We're home sick this week so I'm doing what I can to make some goodies for next weekend🌻

Unfortunately I can't be in the shop right now with Little Girl so I can't work on my passion project chaps but next week we'll hopefully be full steam ahead!

These will all be available for purchase, a Sunflower Kindle e-reader case, a Padfolio with one of my favorite studs on the cover (Nothing But Blu), and an abstract Clutch!

I am starting a monthly Nova Scotia Leatherwork Get-together!

Our first get-together will be this Saturday April 18th! I will be hosting monthly, it'll be the third Saturday of the month 10am-2pm.
I will provide a light lunch and coffee. Feel free to bring snacks to share as well as any scrap leather you want to giveaway!

To clarify this is not a class- you must be currently doing leatherwork on your own. Bring your current project, stamps and a mallet, I will have a few extra granite blocks but make sure you message to claim one in advance.

Shoot me a message to get the address and comment because I've had messages do get lost in message requests.

My little girl just discovered pockets and she can't keep her hands out of them. Just wait till her mama makes her some chaps with pockets- Cowgirl's never gonna take 'em off 🩵

Throwback to too many years to say out loud, I was the new kid. I sat down in my first class just to immediately stand back up and introduce myself. Luckily the 14 year old version of myself was a proud (weird) horse girl, that introduction led me to find the other (weird) horse girl in the class and we quickly became best friends.
Years have gone on and life changes but I am so thankful for the friend I found in Abby and the memories we made, and now I'm thankful I was able to create such a pair of chaps for that horse girl that let me sit beside her that day many years ago.

That set has a few "firsts" for me, I can't wait to show you all the details when they're complete! I'm sure everyone can guess that this is my first time using a yellow thread but I like how it came together. Her barn colors are green and yellow, so it just fits 💛💚
