ANAM CARA
A Celtic phrase that refers to the idea of a “ Soul Friend”. Empowering, enlightening exhilarating even sometimes frightening. Birthing is not something we have to do alone! What we do need is our Anam Cara ; our Soul Friend. Someone to be with us every step of the way. I have been a doula for several years. Supporting birthing woman and their families through the journey of their pregnancy , labour, and postpartum experience. It is always an honour and privilege to be welcomed into such a sacred circle. Sharing my experience as a mother of six and a grandmother of 5 (so far!), lending a hand, supporting, educating and most importantly advocating for respectful and honour-based care.
