JDC Wellness

JDC Wellness I ask that you arrive 5 minutes early to your first session so you can fill out your waiver form. A bathroom is available for clients use. Sound good? Perfect!

Therapeutic Reflexology is based on the principles of Chinese medicine- Using deep massage and accupressure techniques on the body's reflex points, reflexology helps to balance the flow of energy throughout your body and help with your general well being. I will be posting weekly dates and time options on this page but you can also message at any time to inquire and book additonal session times outside of what is posted. There are 3 different length sessions so that you can schedule what you need in the time you have available. Sessions will be held in a cleaned and sanitized space in my home unless a mobile session has been requested and arranged. If for any reason you need to change or cancel your session on any day, please let me know and we can reschedule. Masks can be worn during your session or if you are comfortable without one, they are not required. If you wake up feeling unwell the day of your session, please message or call me right away and we can find another time for you to come in. Looking forward to some calm and feel good you time? Me too. If you have any questions, feel free to ask- send me a message. Some common asks:
*What is Reflexology? Traditional Chinese Reflexology is a therapy based on the principles of Chinese medicine- a bridge between holistic and Western medicines. Through deep massage and accupressure techniques on the reflex points of your feet, hands and ears, traditional Chinese Reflexology helps to balance the flow of energy throughout your body and help with general well being feelings.

*How does it work? One of the core principles in Traditional Chinese Medicine is qi, which can be described as life force or vital energy. Similar to how we have a circulatory system for blood, our bodies have energy pathways for the flow of qi. When qi is flowing properly, our bodies are in harmony and we experience wellness. The major energy pathways in the body connect with your feet (and hands). Thus, your foot is considered the headquarters for the energy pathways in your body. It’s a microcosm of your entire body as reflex points on your feet connect energetically to different organs and areas of the body.If a reflex point is sensitive to the touch, this indicates that the corresponding area of the body is experiencing a disruption in the flow of qi. Massaging these reflex points helps to clear toxins and improve the flow of energy.

*What should you wear? To give a proper session, I will need access to your foot and lower leg up to and including the back of your knee as well as your hand and lower arm up to and including your elbow. Please try to wear clothing that allows for that access comfortably. Good blood flow helps the beneficial parts of this acupressure massage so please try to avoid tight or restrictive clothes. You will enjoy it more this way.

*What products will I use during your treatment? For each session, I will be using an alternating combination of sanitizer spray and moisturizer lotion for each limb. Essential oils are added to bases in order to customize your experience and give you a choice when it comes to the smells you would like used on you. If you have any skin allergies or sensitivities, please let me know and I can use the unscented base versions for your experience. Before you arrive, a diffuser with a calming blend of oils is used in the room to create a pleasant aroma in welcome (and to replace the remaining smell of disinfectant if there was a session before yours). If you are not pro-diffuser for any reason, again- just let me know. Your comfort and enjoyment is the goal.

*What will I feel? Will it hurt? Absolutely not. Your treatment should not cause pain. You may have sensitive areas or points and it is my job to help work them through or to alleviate some of the discomfort. If you have any injuries or painful bruises, those areas will be avoided out of precaution. Those are for a doctor to address- not a reflexoligist- and need to be disclosed at the beginning of your appointment. During or after your session, you may feel calm and relaxed, possibly a little emotional but also equally possible not. You may feel a little tired and you will be asked to make sure you drink a little extra water throughout the day. You should always feel better than before you came- never worse. Deep breaths and you time. It should always be a win.

*Do I need to do anything to my feet before I come? It would be nice if your nails were trimmed and your feet in a cleaned and happy state. Calloused and minor heel cracks are fine- please no open wounds or fungus and try not to run a marathon before coming without rinsing your feet and changing your socks and runners Would you wear sandals in public? If so, your feet are probably fine. Sound like something you might enjoy? Call or message me and we can book you a session! I look forward to seeing you.

🌿Hello. Thank you to everyone for all your support during my reflexology journey so far. That said- Life is happening how life seems to happen and so I will be putting a pause on my reflexology business for the time being. I will be honoring all gift certificates currently out there but please contact/message me directly to book. I will not otherwise be taking new clients or appointments for the next few months.
I hope you are all doing well and look forward to connecting again in the future. 🌿
