We are hiring!
Haven Community Services Ltd. is looking for dedicated Community Support Workers who have what it takes in providing assistance, both in Residential and Community setting, to individuals with Developmental Disability, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Qualifications
- Completed grade 12
- Education OR experience in supporting individuals with Developmental Disabilities, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is an asset but not required (Training will be provided to successful applicants).
- Class 5 Driver’s License is an asset but not required.
- Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
- Medical Clearance
- First Aid and CPR Training
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Request
- Food Safe Certificate
As a Community Support Worker, you are expected to:
- Treat clients with respect.
- Convey empathy and provide emotional support to clients.
- Ensure safety of each client.
- Assist clients in meeting their goals
- Work with the interdisciplinary team in the formulation and implementation of Person-Centred Plans / Safety Plans / Behaviour Management Plan.
- Promote client’s independence.
- Support clients in learning important life skills necessary for successful community living.
- Assist clients in participating in community activities/programs.
- Support clients in fulfilling their school / job obligations.
- Accompany clients to their appointments.
- Report to the supervisor
Residential Services (Group Home) is located in West Maple Ridge
Community Services Areas Covered:
1.) Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows
2.) Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam
