Want to build strength but intimidated by gyms?
Sunflower Yoga & Healing Arts has availability in 3 progressive strength training classes starting next week. The local boutique Maple Ridge studio is offering a 7 week weight circuit program that is designed to get you started on your strength building journey. The studio’s cozy size and max of 5 participants affords individualized instruction.
Why Progressive Strength?
Build up capacity to lift heavier things, ie. groceries, children, grandchildren, kayaks, items around the house.... what ever you need to lift.
Build stronger bones. Lifting weights puts stress on the bones. This stress causes the bones to increase bone density.
It can help improve balance.
It can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories.
Some studies show that it can improve your cognitive abilities.
Classes start Tuesday March 18th from 9am - 10am, Wednesday March 19th from 3:30-4:30pm as well at Thursday March 20th from 7:30pm - 8:30pm. Details can be found at www.sunfloweryoga.ca/offerings
