Why is SPF so important?

• Protects from skin cancer
• Protects from photoaging
• Lowers the chances of developing hyperpigmentation
• Necessary to use after acid applications to avoid photosensitivity
• Preventative measures against anti-aging

Understanding SPF

SPF 15 = 93% protection
SPF 30 = 97% protection
SPF 50+ = 98% protection

Did you know there are different types of sunscreens? Chemical and physical ( mineral ) sunscreen.

Chemical Sunscreens

• Works as a sponge that absorbs the UV Rays and converts into heat

• Tends to be easier to rub into skin but takes 15-20 minutes to work

• Often uses toxic ingredients such as
Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, Homosalate, Octisalate and Avobenzone that are known hormone distruptors
