Happy World Embryologist Day! We're so grateful to the incredible embryologist teams who work in our clinics. Embryologists are a vital part of the IVF process and our patients benefit immensely from their dedication and hard work.

Today is also known as World IVF Day and commemorates the first successful birth of a baby conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF): Louise Brown, who was born in England in 1978. IVF has helped make parenthood possible for millions of people over the past 45+ years.

The heart of IVF lies in both the science and the people who make it possible. We celebrate our embryology team — and the patients who trust us with their hopes — as we continue to support life-changing journeys toward parenthood.

These benefits not only support employees' personal goals but also enhance job satisfaction and retention, a win for everyone.

We’re encouraged by the Ontario government’s continued commitment to improving access to fertility care.

The proposed Fertility Treatment Tax Credit, effective January 2025, will allow Ontario residents to claim:
✔️ 25% back on up to $20,000 in eligible fertility expenses
✔️ That’s up to $5,000/year

This builds on a $150M investment into the Ontario Fertility Program previously announced through the 2024 Ontario Economic Outlook and Fiscal Review.

Even more encouraging:

An additional $100M planned for 2027–28 to support the continued expansion of the Ontario Fertility Program.

This additional funding will:

✅ Expand clinic capacity
✅ Reduce waitlists in hospitals and community settings
✅ Nearly triple access to government-funded IVF

We're hopeful about what this means for people wanting to start or grow their families in Ontario.
