Prior to completing his doctorate, he completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology, at York University in 2011. My Treatment Philosophy
I strongly believe in using a “whole person approach” to treating patients. This entails addressing a patients problems from the physical, psychological, and nutritional point of view. I believe that all 3 aspects play a crucial role in achieving optimal health and must be addressed completely, depending on the patients needs. I also believe that it is vitally important to develop good relationships with patients and creating an amazing experience in each appointment. Patients should be able to trust their doctor and feel comfortable to communicate fully. Sometimes treatment could be more beneficially served by giving sound advice and strategies to deal with current life problems instead of the physical problem itself. I want to inspire patients to want to improve their lives and I feel that when you develop a strong bond, specific recommendations are easier to adhere to. In some cases, treatment on its own can resolve a patients current problem. However, in most cases, a team approach is required where the patient and doctor work together to reach a common healthcare goal. Whether rehabilitation exercises, dietary modifications, or stress relieving activities are prescribed, the recommendations performed outside of the treatment room are equally if not more important. The motivation to improve is a huge determining factor to achieve positive health outcomes. I currently work at the Pain and Wellness Centre - an interdisciplinary practice where a variety of health professionals work together under one roof. I am very fortunate that many of my family members work along side me as we get to positively influence many patients lives together. In our clinic, it is very common that multiple health providers are involved in the management of a single patient. Having a variety of experts handle different aspects of a patients health can make a profound difference in their recovery. This can be very helpful but sometimes, the correct diagnosis and plan of management may be difficult to obtain. To ensure better management of the patient, it is important to refer the patient to an appropriate health provider who is better suited to handle their care. My ultimate goal, is to help empower patients to take control of their health by getting them better as fast as possible, and teaching strategies to prevent reoccurrences leading to a higher quality of life. I am committed to becoming better with each day that passes, as it will allow me to help a variety of people from different walks of life.
