If you or someone you know has experienced trauma, you might be familiar with the feeling of carrying an invisible weight.
Imagine it like a heavy backpack filled with rocks—every step feels harder, but because others can’t see it, they may not understand your struggle.
This can lead to confusion, fear, or frustration when they witness an intense emotional reaction that seems to come out of nowhere.
And because the world doesn’t often understand what you’re going through, it’s easy to feel isolated.
To cope, you may try to temporarily lighten the load with distractions—staying busy, turning to alcohol, or avoiding your emotions—but none of these truly remove the rocks.
They just shift the weight around for a little while.
But trying to numb the pain or hide it will eventually come at a cost—whether it’s in your relationships, your mental and physical health, or your ability to find peace when you’re alone.
Healing doesn’t come from avoiding the pain.
True healing begins when you stop hiding from the weight and instead recognize that your struggles are not a sign of weakness, but a natural response to the heavy burden of trauma.
It’s about finding a safe space where you can take off that backpack, unpack it, and begin to let go of the things that have been weighing you down.
It’s not an easy process, but you deserve to live free from the weight of trauma.
Find a safe place to start your journey towards healing. 🤍
