Residents embraced their inner campers at Extendicare Winbourne Park! Activities included tie-dyeing shirts, woodworking, bracelet making, watching nature documentaries, making s'mores, campfire stories, and much more!

The badge system made it extra special - every activity earned a camp badge, and residents with more than three badges received goodie bags with compasses, flashlights, and camp bracelets at the closing ceremonies.

Extendicare Columbia Forest celebrated Ontario Long Term Care Association's LTC Community Engagement Day, bringing together residents, families, staff and community partners.

The home welcomed Waterloo Regional Chair Karen Redman; Regional Councillors Joe Gowing - Kitchener Conestoga and Chantal Huinink; Ward 2 Waterloo City Councillor Royce Bodaly - Ward 2 City Councillor, Waterloo and Amie Vahrmeyer, VP of Long-Term Care Operations at Extendicare.

A visit from the Triple C Farm, a tree dedication, OLTCA Certificates of Community and a donation by the Resident Council to Tiny Home Takeout made the afternoon even more special!

The spirit of Terry Fox lives on in countless Canadians who continue his mission. 🏃 🍁

On Day, we are proud to share the story of Jackson, Extendicare Poseidon Recreation Aide, who ran across Canada inspired by Terry’s legacy. In just 160 days, Jackson ran across Canada and raised more than $100,000 for cancer research. Jackson’s remarkable journey, completed last year, continues to inspire us all.

Great food, live music, and quality time with families- the BBQ at Extendicare Sherwood Court in Ontario had it all!

The leadership team proudly served up delicious food while residents and their families enjoyed live entertainment featuring cultural music and classic hits.

The patio was filled with laughter and conversation as everyone came together to celebrate as one Sherwood Court family.

It was a special day in the Ottawa area as we celebrated the official grand opening of our newest long-term care home, Extendicare Crossing Bridge.

Alongside the Honourable Natalia Kusendova-Bashta, Minister of Long-Term Care, George Darouze, MPP, Carleton, and Extendicare President and CEO Dr. Michael Guerriere, residents Barbara and Karen, President and Vice President of the Extendicare Crossing Bridge Residents’ Council, cut the ribbon to officially open the 256-bed home in Stittsville, Ont.

“Extendicare Crossing Bridge reflects the best of modern long-term care - welcoming, comfortable spaces where families can connect and residents feel at home. We are grateful to the Government of Ontario and the City of Ottawa for their commitment to bringing this project to life, as we work to replace and expand all of our older homes and strengthen the system for Ontario’s seniors.”

In August, Extendicare hosted our 12th Annual Charity Golf Classic in support of the Alzheimer Society of Canada (ASC). ⛳️
