🌈 "Just think positive!"
Sounds supportive but in fact it can sometimes silence real pain.

When we only make room for happy emotions, we unintentionally shut down honest conversations about struggle, sadness, grief, or stress. This is called toxic positivity—and it often makes people feel ashamed for feeling anything negative.

✨ True support means holding space for all emotions—joy and discomfort, hope and fear, forgiveness and anger. You don't have to fake a smile to be worthy of care.

You don’t have to control your thoughts. You just have to stop letting them control you. — Dan Millman

Your thoughts aren’t facts. They’re not commands. They’re not the whole truth.
They’re just thoughts. And you are allowed to pause, observe, and choose which ones deserve your energy. 💭✨

Let them be there. Watch them pass like clouds.
You don’t need to control them.
Just don’t hand them the steering wheel.

Ting is a social worker who has worked in variety of settings including non-profit organizations and outpatient community organizations. She draws on various approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Emotion-focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to provide support and guide her clients in the healing process.

As an immigrant who is raising her children born in Canada, she understands the struggle of starting in a new country. She aims to support others on that journey—navigating identity, belonging, and well-being by working with first and second generation immigrants to assist with generation and /or culture gaps. She offers services in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

This Men’s Mental Health Month, let’s redefine masculinity: Courage is vulnerability. Power is self-awareness. Emotions don’t make you weak—they make you real. Men deserve safe spaces to feel, speak, and heal. Real strength is facing what’s inside.

“The only way to deal with emotions is through.”
The only way to heal is to feel- with curiosity, compassion, and courage. We don’t bypass the emotion — we go through it, and find meaning on the other side.

Feeling exhausted, detached, or just not yourself at work?

🧠💔 Grief isn't just emotional — it's neurological.
When we lose someone, our brain rewires, trying to make sense of absence. It disrupts memory, sleep, and decision-making. You're not “losing it” — your brain is just mourning too.
