My work in the PAR program has generated an interest in men's depression and anxiety. I have observed that many men deal with these using anger and aggression. This can have negative effects on relationships with partners and with self. There can be past trauma and other negative events, the effects of which go buried and which influence present behaviours.
It takes courage to admit vulnerability, however, the benefits are many.

Our Story

Experienced counselling for anxiety, depression, loss, anger, childhood or adult trauma, stress. With the world “going crazy” there is increased need for stable relationships, stable communities, stable outlets for sharing and support. These can come from family members, friends and from counsellors. Sharing in focus groups is also a way of alleviating anxiety and stress caused by busy, fitful lives that offer little time for contemplation, insight and relaxation. There is constant reminder that only the present moment is really important, however, tuning into this present moment is challenged by constant thoughts, feelings and inner chatter of the brain. It is also hindered by the presence of “ego”, that part of the person that has been created to keep things normal, that is, constant, but which gets in the way of being in the present moment.

If you wish to get more information, more support, or just connecting to discuss established thought patterns and feelings, please contact me at York Region Stress and Anxiety Clinic - 416-428-6071.
