Meet Janet! One of the kindest women you could ever know. She has such patience and poise at all times. Janet is one of our Funeral Directors & Embalmers and the heart of our care centre.

“I was always fascinated with death care and funerals from the time I was a little girl. It wasn’t uncommon for me to attend a viewing/funeral with my parents and I was always fascinated with the deceased loved one; how did they get to look so peaceful, what processes were involved in their care, especially when the circumstances around their death was sometimes quite tragic. I wanted to know all the things but it wasn’t really something to be discussed openly. I felt it was something I wanted to be a part of someday. As I grew older my heart was stirred to care for the elderly. They had so much life to share and so much for me to learn from them. I felt that my life was indebted to everything their life had laid the groundwork for me to be able to enjoy. I wanted to give back and the best way I knew to do that was to give them dignity in a time when they could not care for themselves anymore. I spend about 15-20 years as a care aide, always feeling drawn to those who were in their final years, weeks, days, hours. Moving into funeral service was a natural progression in giving care to those who could not care for themselves. This is where I feel my calling in life has come full circle. Having the greatest honour to care for a family’s loved one is not something I ever take lightly. Families need a safe place to land in the darkest moments of their lives when they say goodbye to their loved ones. Striving to provide a calm space for them to feel the grief that comes with their loss, and having the family feel confident that their loved one is being cared for tenderly and with the honour and dignity they deserve is my hearts desire. I want the family to feel I am genuinely “with them” during their time of mourning.
When I am not at work, my favorite place to be is with my people. Im a proud mom to to 6 amazing kids, 5 doing life as young adults and making me a gramma to 4 of the best grandkiddos, and 1 little man still at home keeping me on my toes with his energy and involvement in sports.
I love learning more about who God created me to be and about how to shine His love quietly to those my life intersects with.
I am a Jane of all trades and love being creative with small building projects and home renos . My motto is if others can do it, I can probably learn it as well. You never know until you try what you might be good at.
I enjoy baking and cooking, sewing, beading projects.
Bucket list: archeological discoveries are fascinating and I would love to go to Egypt to explore the rich history that added to my death care curiosity.“

Thank you Janet for everything you do for loved ones and the care you show all of your work family! We couldn’t do it without you.

Meet Melissa! She’s the face you’ll first meet at our Warman location. Melissa’s welcoming smile and warm heart are just a few of her genuine traits that will make you feel at ease. She will go above and beyond to help you in any way possible. She is a true gem!
I’ve always had an interest in the funeral profession. Even back in grade school, I imagined myself either becoming a forensic scientist or working at a funeral home. After my family experienced several devastating losses, that calling became even more personal. In 2022, just a couple of months after Kevin and the staff so compassionately cared for us, I found myself here, able to support others the way I had once been supported.
Outside of work, my greatest joy is spending time with my best friends: my husband and our four kids. We love Sunday cruises in our personal hearse and spending sunny days together at the lake. A dream still on my bucket list is to get my pilot’s license.
One of my favourite quotes is from the song “Love Like Crazy” - “Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse ‘I love you’… go to work, do your best, don’t outsmart your common sense… never let your prayin’ knees get lazy, and love like crazy.” Those words are a reminder of the values I strive to live by each day.
A fun fact about me is that I once lived in Texas and I was in helicopter pilot school, wanting to eventually be an air ambulance pilot.
Working in funeral service has taught me never to judge how someone grieves, everyone’s journey is different. What matters most is meeting people where they are, with empathy and compassion. I feel truly honoured to walk beside families and help celebrate the lives of their loved ones.
Thanks Melissa, for the selfless care you provide and being your authentic caring self. We could not do this without you. You are an important part of this journey together!

Meet our amazing Celebrant, Delores! Delores has been providing care to our families with her kind and compassionate heart. Delores always remembers the little details that mean so much to each family.
“For over 20 years, I had the privilege of working at a church, where I devoted myself to caring for seniors and supporting those in crisis, including offering compassionate funeral care. It was more than a job; it was a calling that I truly loved. Even after retiring, it felt only natural to continue doing what I love most: caring for others.
One of my guiding principles has always been the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” My experience is the funeral business taught me an invaluable lesson, never be too quick to judge, as we often don’t know the struggles others are carrying.
Fun fact about Delores: I started a homemade pasta business 27 years ago, which is still going strong today under new ownership. And while I have checked many things off my list over the years, one fun goal still remains… learn how to use chopsticks.
Thank you, Delores, for all you do for our families.

Meet Dennica! The friendly face and warm heart you will meet at our Cherished Memories location, in Martensville.
“I was drawn to the funeral profession years ago, but at the time, my babies were little, and my heart was focused on being their mamma. Now that they’re older, I’ve had the chance to explore this calling and the deep sense of purpose I feel in supporting others during some of life’s most difficult moments.
I grew up in a tiny town with about 500 people—one of those places where if you blink, you might just miss it. It gave me a strong sense of community, which has stayed with me throughout my life.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my kids, exploring my photography business, or simply enjoying quiet moments at home to reset and recharge. I’m also incredibly proud to be called Grammy by the sweetest grandbabies ever, nothing fills my heart quite like they do.
One dream still on my bucket list is visiting Graceland. I’ve always loved Elvis, his music, his story, and the legacy he left behind. It’s a place I’ve always wanted to experience in person.
My favorite quote is, “In acceptance lieth peace.” It reminds me that true strength often comes in letting go and finding stillness in the things we can’t control.
Working in funeral service has taught me more than I ever expected. Most of all, it’s given me a deeper appreciation for life. We often say, “You only live once,” but I’ve come to believe that we can choose to live fully every single day, and not take a moment for granted.”
Thank you Dennica for all you do and the heart you put into everything.

Meet Baylee! Baylee is a Funeral Director who recently finished all of her formal education. She approaches every aspect of her work with true empathy and compassion.
“From a young age, I was drawn to the funeral industry, often telling people I wanted to be a mortician. As I began to experience the loss of my own grandparents, that early curiosity grew into a deep passion. With two young children at home, I made the decision to pursue a formal education, and I haven’t looked back since. One of the greatest lessons this work has taught me is the importance of kindness, it costs nothing, yet can mean everything to someone going through a difficult time.”
Baylee is inspired by the words of Napoleon Hill:“If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way.”
Outside of work, Baylee enjoys camping at Waskesiu every summer with her family and friends. She stays active through CrossFit and Hyrox workouts at Synergy Strength. Originally from Meadow Lake, SK, Baylee also has a few fun talents, she can play the piano and recite pi to 11 digits!
Thank you, Baylee, for your dedication, your willingness to support families in their time of need, and for always being ready to lend a hand to your coworkers.
