Here on Mayne Island, where the deer outnumber the people, we know that if you want a garden, you need a fence. π±π¦π¦π¦
Same thing for whatever weβre cultivating in our lives (our peace, joy, clarity, harmonious connection, and creative spark) ~ it all needs protection too.
Lately, Iβve been in deep conversation with folks about BOUNDARIES.
Not the rigid, harsh cut-off kind.
The thoughtful, soul-honouring kind. The ones that make room for kindness AND clear noβs. πͺπ₯°β£οΈ
And honestly, itβs one of the most important skills to develop ~ ESPECIALLY when you have a big heart & want to make a positive impact in the world.
Because I know what happens when we don't honour our limits ~ I see it in the folks I work with, and I've experienced it first-hand:
π³ bending over backwards for people, again & again
π³ continuing to stretch beyond what feels good
π³ trying to make sure everyone else is taken care of
π³ running out of time/energy to take care of ourself
π³ being too busy to be able to focus on what truly matters
All this gets super grumpifying ~ to say the least!
And can lead to serious issues like
π° health concerns (the body says No for you)
π° strife with loved ones (resentment, bitterness, guilt...)
π° feeling like you're failing at Life, despite trying so hard.
Thankfully, Iβve gathered all sorts of goodies over the years, to help develop skills like saying No with kindness ~ so we can honour our limits as well as our big hearts. PHEWF! ππ₯³π
But before I roll them out, Iβd LOVE your input. π

PS ~ Please pass this along to a friend who could use a little fence (ahem: Boundary!)-building help too. ππ
Fence (aka work of art!) shown was built by my talented & skilled hubby Mike Nadeau, with driftwood he hand-spilt (thanks Ocean Depot!) ~ isn't it gorgeous?!!!! π
