Epilepsy Know

Epilepsy Know A Friendly Choice for Resource Links for those with Epilepsy and their families.

Having had Epilepsy all my life, I've noticed the need for information with regards to seizures and treatment options. There is a need to have information from different locales from different provinces in Canada, and I'm going to be working on gathering the information that's needed. https://r.search.yahoo.com/cbclk2/dWU9NjRDMTQ5RUE3NDVDNEMzRSZ1dD0xNTExMTEwOTk2NTc0JnVvPTc2NzU5Njg3NjI5ODg2Jmx0PTIm

Shared in Memory of Kathy Scout-Bastien who passed away in her sleep from Epilepsy. R.I.P my beloved Kathy Scout-Bastien, how I wish we could have another talk and laugh out loud at our mischievous moments together. All my best to your husband Wade ( your childhood sweetheart) and your family. So missed 50's are too young to die, as is any other younger age. God bless us all who live with and support the ignorance out there concerning Epilepsy. All the best going forward to everyone.

Today is Epilepsy Memorial Day, an opportunity to remember all those who have died from epilepsy.

Mark the day by joining us online and commenting below this post with your messages, photographs, posts and poems.🌸

Well I had a great follow-ups visit with my Neurologist yesterday and I had quite the chat with him. I told him that there's been no further incidents of seizures ( nocturnal) to report since last August/ September. I had been doing battle with a UTI, and I absolutely believe that's what caused my seizures last August/September. So he was quite willing to write a letter to approve me to get my DL reinstated. I was absolutely impressed with his trust in me.
When I had arrived at the Epilepsy Clinic at Foothills Epilepsy Clinic in Calgary, I had noticed a young woman with a Service dog come up and get off of the elevator. She went back downstairs and came back up a while later. People that were waiting to be seen had heard someone mention about I need a cold water. It was then that people were getting up to look at her having an Aura ???? She felt like she was going to have a seizure and her precious service dog was laid out across her lap to comfort her. It was absolutely heartbreaking to see her so hyper and staff were tending to her. All I could think was about how my participation with Cypress Canine Society in Medicine Hat Alberta, needs to be kept going. As we were offering owner dog training for people who have a dog, to go through the training process to become certified Service Dog's. This will take a lot of stress off of people who need a Service Dog to get their's trained. I'm going to be talking to the founder, as this is a must do.
But yes I did have a wonderful visit with my Neurologist and a wonderful trip back home. It made for a long day but definitely enjoyable.

Good morning everyone. I've found something interesting and want to share it out. It concerns being prescribed Carbamazepine XR and effects on our urinary system and issues associated with it here's the link.

For people who live in Canada, I will be phoning the Canadian Epilepsy Alliance on Monday. This is to inform of the treatment I have received from not only my previous Landlord and his minion manager, but also from the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital and the Medicine Hat City Police. I've got a story about how I've been treated and the injuries I've suffered. So fed up of the ignorance that abounds out there.

There are no word's, only tears to find out about the loss of a dear Friend from Fort McLeod Alberta. Her husband had text me saying that his wife Kathy Scout-Bastien had passed away in her sleep February 4th. She had a life-long battle with Epilepsy and no doubt passed away from SUDEP.
Kathy had been a very dear friend, and so I'm posting on my Epilepsy Know website. She was in her 50's and too young to die as we all are.
Deepest condolences to Kathy's husband Wade and their grown children. There are no word's.
Anyone who dares to think that Epilepsy isn't a challenge, look up SUDEP, as that's the diagnosis I had gotten before my surgery in 2019.
Having not heard of the term SUDEP, Specialists in the area of Neurology seem to be very uneasy broaching the subject.
So my beloved Kathy, you've earned your wings to a more joyous ending. It won't stop my tears for a while. R.I.P my dear.
