What an incredible day at Safety City!
Thank you to everyone who bundled up, braved the brisk fall wind, and filled our park with warmth and community spirit.

To our volunteers — your time, kindness, and energy made this event possible. Every pumpkin carved, every game played, every welcome at the gate and smile at a booth helped create a magical day for families. We truly could not do this without you.

A very special thank-you to Kiwanis of Gas City - Since 1961 for the amazing and delicious food. You served families with generosity and heart, and we are so grateful for your continued support.

Thank you to our AHS EMS Paramedics — for bringing the ambulance, offering tours, teaching safety, and spending time with the kids. You made learning fun and inspiring.

Thank you to Starbucks Medicine Hat – Dunmore Road for keeping everyone warm with fabulous coffee and friendly smiles. Your kindness was felt in every cup.

This event was more than a celebration — it was a fundraiser for the revitalization of Safety Village.
Every volunteer hour, every booth, and every family who walked through our gates helped move this dream forward. Together, we are rebuilding a safe, vibrant learning space for our children and community.

Huge thanks to Faye and Murray Miller from Kiwanis of Gas City - Since 1961, the dynamic duo who slaved away in the kitchen, cooking up a storm, and then took cover from the wind to run the show in the food trailer at our Harvest event. Oh, and they even picked the lucky winner of the community basket raffle. This was a freebie for all adults who entered the park to share with their families. Big ups to our awesome sponsors who donated goodies: Save-On-Foods, Sobeys, The Hat's Olive Tap Ltd, Medicine Hat Mavericks, Medicine Hat Firefighters, and some super cool stuff from Safety City Medicine Hat. You've got 24 hours to claim your prize, from 9 am today till 9 am tomorrow.

Thanks to Stuart Young - Medicine Hat City Councillor Kayla Young for bringing your family by to the “It Takes a Village. Harvest Festival.”
It was so nice to see Stu being as always so active and engaged as a new council member showing up for our community as always. So especially grateful to all who came, volunteered their time and showed up to support the revitalization of Safety Village. Special thanks to Kiwanis of Gas City - Since 1961 for feeding the entire park.

I’m so grateful I get to know each one of you.

We stopped in to Safety City Medicine Hat to check out their Harvest Celebration this afternoon. We carved pumpkins, played a bunch of games, met a Llama and ate some s’mores. The kids loved it! It’s going on until 4:00pm. Now we’re off to the Esplanade.

HARVEST CELEBRATION WEATHER UPDATE 🍂

It’s a breezy day here at Safety City, friends! 🌬️
We’re keeping a gentle eye on the winds (and our pumpkins!) as this is a fully outdoor event. Some of our cozy fire pits have been turned into “Windy Day Warm-Up Zones” — the same autumn charm, just with a little less flame. ✨

Our tents are secured, our volunteers are smiling, and there’s still plenty of laughter, music, and fall fun all around. 🍁🎶

🎃 Pumpkins may go quickly, so feel free to bring your own if you’d like to carve on site!
💵 Please bring some cash, as a few of our booths don’t accept cards today.

Bundle up, bring your family, and come enjoy the beauty of the season — wind and all.
We promise the pumpkins won’t blow away… probably. 😉
