After a lot of thought, I wanted to share that Melita Therapy Centre will be closing its doors at the end of this month.

Krista and I opened MTC back in February of 2018, and what started as a small idea quickly became something much bigger thanks to the incredible support of this community. Krista stepped away from MTC three years ago, and since then I’ve continued to run the clinic with pride. I’m extremely grateful to everyone who trusted us with their care and supported the clinic along the way.

Looking ahead, I’ll be transitioning my athletic therapy and acupuncture services to my hometown of Deloraine. Where in partnership with the 2000 club, Marlee and I are in the early stages of building a new gym space. There are some exciting updates coming on that project. As we get everything set up, I’ll be taking a short break from regular bookings.

That said, if you’re dealing with an injury or need support in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can always call or text my cell at (204) 291-5464, and I’ll do my best to see if we can make something temporary work.

Melita Therapy Centre is now proud to provide acupuncture services! Acupuncture is the process of inserting thin, sterile, single use needles to specific points in the body. Pain relief is one of the great benefits of acupuncture, as needles can be used to release your body’s own natural endorphins, as well as interfere with the nerves transmitting pain. Other benefits include increased circulation, increased lymphatic drainage (reducing swelling) and an increased flow of interstitial fluid assisting in the lubrication of the innerworkings of the body.

A few things to look forward to as we prepare
to slowly return to work:

- You will be screened before your appointment. Please be honest. If you have ANY cold/flu/Covid like symptoms, OR if you have been in close contact with someone who has- please stay home.

- anybody entering the building is asked to complete the self-assessment screening tool at:
https://sharedhealthmb.ca/covid19/screening-tool/

- We ask that you please follow all physical distancing protocols and guidelines in place whenever possible.

- Please wash your hands when you enter the building. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the clinic as well.

- All areas are sanitized thoroughly after each appointment. All items that can’t be sanitized are removed from the space.

- Patients are welcome to wear masks if they choose.

- Please use contactless debit/credit tap for payment if possible.

- We will be operating at a decreased number of the usual case load until further notice.

- Anything can change at anytime. We are constantly monitoring updates and recommendations from government and health authorities. Your (and our) health and safety is important to us.

✨Massage Therapy update✨

Good news!, but news that will be approached with caution.

Yesterday the Provincial Government lifted the mandated closure of Massage Therapy beginning May 4th, 2020.

Please be aware that as exciting as this announcement was, I am not rushing to open my doors until I am 100% ready. There will be many rules and regulations that will be put in place to ensure the greatest possible care and the continued health and safety for everyone involved. Please be patient as we prepare for and navigate this “new normal.”

It will be a “soft re-opening” and will be a slow process. I will be in contact will everyone I had to cancel the last 6 weeks as soon as possible! My online booking will continue to remain closed for the time being, but feel free to call/message to add your name to my wait list!

There will be another update coming to outline what this new normal will look like!

Update!

We will be closed indefinitely while Manitoba is in a State of Emergency due to COVID19.

I will be doing another round of phone calls to contact those who have an appointment scheduled in the next couple weeks!

Due to all the uncertainty at the moment, I will not be rescheduling appointments at this time. Instead, I will contact you to reschedule once health authorities have deemed it safe to continue working! I have also temporarily disabled my online booking. If you do not have an appointment and would like to be added to my list, let me know!
